1. Solution for hunger of gold

Year after year the server is forced to do gold squish, this is a beneficial thing for the server, but now after 8-9 months the prices are absurd. I saw people in the chat today begging to buy blood queen neck with 25k gold, it's absurd.
This problem occurs because the materials and items that can be easily obtained are too few compared to the server's population. I think that a beneficial solution to slow down this hunger for gold is for the server to double or even triple all the resources, even the BOE items from the ICC, also the primo. With their doubling or tripling, they would be available in a larger volume than people could buy, basically, there will be more than people can buy, and prices would drop drastically.
    What do you think?
    Thanks!

  2. And why would that be a good thing? How is low prices on things that are supposed to be rare and expensive beneficial? Beneficial to whom?

If you triple chokers drop chance, they will go for 300g, who benefits from that? Other items already go for laughably low prices, increasing their drop chance will put the price under Abyss crystals, it already is/was for some items with drop rates as is.

  3. This is the idea, if you increase the rate, the price decreases, who can benefit from low prices? well, all the new people on the server, gold squish will not be so expected anymore, regarding to abyss, it will decrease as well, any enchant can take epic items and transform them into abyss, being many epics, there will be many abyss, the price will be drop...

  4. How would it benefit new players when everything is plenty, enchants cost 5 gold and everyone is equipped with full sets of BOEs that cost 50 gold?

Why not just skip the bother and place a vendor where all the gear can be bought for 1 copper? Problem solved, everyone has plenty gold, all the guild vaults have 50'000'000 Gold and all the characters have 214'000 gold on them. Problem solved, right?

  5. So you wanna harm economy just because "new player can't buy best BoE item", right? You are not supposed to get everything as new/fresh player.

  6. This problem occurs because the materials and items that can be easily obtained are too few compared to the server's population.
This problem occurs because everybody knows the yearly squish is coming and they are hoarding stuff instead of putting it up for sale.

  7. angrylol, i am sorry but i am not sure that you understand the point...
Persivaln, not only the new players will benefit for that, all the player will benefit, also will not be anymore raids with "BOE res", you will harm economy also by gold squish, yes as a new player you do not recieved anything, you will work for these, but you will not fight anymore with the army of bots
Shred92, yes, I also talked to a man today who had 30 stacks of primo, but you cannot force a guy to put something in ah if he didn't want, only if they won't be worth that much anymore.

sorry, I don't know how to answer each one separately, peace!

  8. Your "solution" wouldn't change anything due to not targeting the core issue causing inflation: The imbalance between gold generation and drainage.

All your "solution" would do is temporarely drop prices for items, if at all, while not doing anything about the incoming gold hoarding. Thus in the near future you'd simply witness inflation again. Just worse than with the squish in place.
People would simply swap to other stuff like consumeables, gems or whatnot to make their money if BoEs really end up way too plentiful.

Unless you somehow manage to also delete or drain massive amounts of generated money on this server all you'd achieve is shift the "issue items" a bit.
And i'm not even sure if choker, same like battered hilt, is an item you'd be able to push that low simply due to how many classes/specs need it.

  9. Well, imagine that we are a family, with 2 members, year after year (because of Frostmourne and not only) new members enter the family, we used to eat 10 kg of food per month, but over time, in 3 years, with 3 or 4 extra members in our family, it's eaten the same amount of food, 10 kg. how does that feel?

  10. Your example with "family" is just wrong and doesn't belong to subject.

Here is breakdown for you to understand situation and calm down with your "rally for fairness towards new players":
    1. Inflation - gold on servers get inflated due to it being stuck on one expansion, people begin to accumulate it naturally after certain point. And more gold means higher prices, thus one gold coin loses its value over time.
    2. Here comes gold squish, which removes gold from market circulation and brings back value to gold coins.
    3. But there is one negative side of it - people start to set ridiculous prices to compensate for upcoming squish, not realising that they only make it worse.
    4. That's why people switched to rare things like low drop BoEs, Primordial Saronite, epic gems, titansteel (naturally limited resource only if you are not crazy enough to make army of transmutation specialists).

There is no valid reason to make change of drop rates you suggest only because you are lazy to play on market and pay what people ask for at peak of inflation, when gold is least valuable.
You want to have same "privileges" as old players. But you are doing nothing to gain them, you totally ignore that we have 8-10 characters on accounts, with all professions, all needed achievements and attunements done. So we resort to using something more valuable in trade, just like countries/companies in real world.

So... Anything else not clear for you? Or you gonna keep going down the road with your righteous crusade to strip old players from their deserved, earned "privileges" for sake of "fairness"?

  11. the example with the family is exactly what is also on the server, it is a concrete example of understanding, but I understand you, from what you said, you are an old player who thinks that an injustice will be done to you, I have also been playing on the server for only 3 years, in this time I also took all the classes with all the possible professions, so I honestly don't understand what would be due to me once I get the seniority on the server, this mentality is not good.

and btw, i never say that to give up at gold squish, he can continue, the drop rate and resources must be in accordance with the number of players, precisely because it is only an expansion.

  12. 4 years here, so not a huge difference.

You do realise that large player base means more drops of any item, regardless of rate? Because you have more players who participate in it? And not only boss drops, but ones from ICC satchels aswell.

  13. angrylol, i am sorry but i am not sure that you understand the point...
Then explain it to me, because "cheap and plenty items for new players" is not an explanation or a point. Those items are supposed to be rare. You are supposed to starve for gold. It's not a bag of rice you need to split with your family to survive, it's a luxury, a reward for being lucky or being good at making gold. Your short sighted idea will destroy huge part of the game, I understand it's inevitable, dying genre is dead and these small islands like Warmane will go under with time also. But why rush it? Enjoy the last echoes of MMO.

  14. Your example misses the point entirely.
Gold isn't a static amount and it doesn't decay like food. New people come, old people go. Yet the amount of gold on a server increases quite steadily due to how little is drained (cheap npc prices/no lategame stuff sold for gold from npcs/low auction house cut/etc) and how much is generated (20g+ for a simple quest at lvl 80).

If you toss 3 times the amount of chokers on a server the prices wouldn't suddenly drop massively - you'd just feed the same guys currently playing the auction house game. They're also causing the madness every year with inflated prices as they suddenly want to turn cash into items and thus flood the market, simply because there's way too much gold around in the first place.
Warmane just can't go much further than an announced squish without ruining the game or pissing off their players even more.

  15. As someone said, people have these items but they collect them, also as Persivaln suggested, being a big community, it is assumed that the items are also many, but they don't appear in AH, waiting for gold squish, you can't force people to put something for sale if they don't want to, unless these things are no longer so valuable, and how do you reduce their value? well, offering more
