1. HELP! The WOTLK launcher from Warmane's download page makes internet problems!!!

I have just installed the Wotlk launcher from the downloads page and when it finished downloading (and even before that, during downloading) my internet started acting very slow (i usually have very fast internet, not even downloads slow it down) and my PC became so slow!!! When the download finished, I lost my internet connection COMPLETELY, the troubleshooter said that there is a DNS network problem. It's back now, but there's no way in hell I'm launching this Wow client until someone gives me a fair answer.

I have to make a note that this is my second time installing it, the first time I tried it slowed everything down, and I had to reset my PC. My second time now is no different, is Warmane packed with viruses now????

BY THE WAY, as I'm writing this, my internet died AGAIN! It is absolutely this launcher's fault. Someone tell me what is going on!

  2. Your own ISP technician told you it was an issue with their DNS. That has nothing to do with us, with the game, with the download our players use and much less with any "virus." Try researching what's a DNS to understand what you were told the problem is instead.

  3. Then how come my internet problems arise whenever I deal with the downloaded WoW files? I never have any internet problems, and I was certain that when I download the files a second time, it would happen again, and it did, my internet blacked out for a good couple of minutes.

I must inform you however that it is not my intent to attack Warmane, and I must admit that my proclamations about a virus being involved were a bit overexaggerated, my apologies. I only look for a clear answer to my problem, which quite frankly does involve the downloaded files. I have played on Warmane a couple of years ago, and I never had any problems then.

  4. I think you have a ****ty connection or network equipment and using bittorrent knocked you offline.

Like I said, your own ISP technician told they were having issues with their DNS. Just think about it, ISP techs are usually the quickest to throw the blame at something else without even checking or admitting something on their end, yet you had one flat out tell you the DNS was acting up. Nothing you could download, be it a WoW client or porn or even straight up files your antivirus tells you are swarming with trojans would somehow make the DNS have problems.

If that's not enough for you, just consider the amount of players we have. You're downloading from a torrent, which has checksums to make sure of the files' integrity, and that also makes sure the files you're getting are the exact same as everyone else. Out of literally hundreds of thousands of people who have downloaded the same client, only you would somehow be affected like that?

  6. Is your torrent software still running and/or seeding without limit?

  7. This is one of those issues where asking around on forums is not gonna help. Remote assistance is for people who understand the subject and the surrounding materials/technologies/etc. You being sure your problems happen during wow client download isn't the same as problem actually being caused by wow client download. You need someone who actually understands computers, software and maybe a little bit of networking to figure out if you really have a DNS issue, network adapter and/or driver issue, or some other problem you're incapable of troubleshooting.

As a regular warmane player I'll tell you the client doesn't cause internet issues. Your computer has issues to begin with.

Maybe, if your internet keeps dying, you should begin your investigation with the company who provides your internet(AKA your ISP)? As a Canadian, I am VERY familiar with terrible internet service providers. Also, as a Canadian, I can tell you, with authoritay, that the weather WILL affect your internet.

Maybe...just maybe...you should try again next weekend, and see if it's more than just a glitch?

Or, you know...just keep raging against the machines...XD
