Why not make it x7 then, like both Icecrown and Frostmourne? People still will be able to choose x5 if they want. I mean, what is the reasoning behind that design? If you guys deep down inside realise that x7 is too fast for "vanilla experience" then I gotta tel you that in that case everything above x2 is not true and disjointed and meaningless and might as well start at lvl60. These x5 half-mesures are laughable
It doesn't really matter if it's 3x, 5x, or 7x. Sure, 7x will be "twice as fast" as 3x...but regardless, you're still spending time each level to quest, kill mobs, and use your class abilities, and whatnot. It doesn't really matter. It's boosted rates, but isn't instant-level boosted. If the rates were ridiculous like 35x where you can't complete a dungeon without turning the last boss grey, you might have a point...but the only point I'm seeing is "it's not grindy enough to make people spend more time doing tedious repetitive tasks for my sadistic glee!"
Because this isn't a slippery slope and one thing isn't a gateway to the other.
Thanks for nothing. I truly don't understand who are you trying to please here, if anyone at all. At that point it seems like you guys did pull that decision out of the ***, or made it just because if you prefer that.
I agree that the game loses essence in a faster pace leveling speed, but there is nothing about the game that will be like the original release experience back in 2004. If you don't do x5 XP rates, people will just boost with mages in smaller instances, thus giving mages a larger share of gold to pile up on. Everyone knows everything about this game or can look it up immediately without having too much difficulty. It doesn't make sense to try and recreate the past, as what is known, can't be unknown. All that's left is to play the game and revise things that players are going to avoid doing anyway, like a longer leveling process.
What you are looking for is impossible, the original experience is the only one you'll get, and I know that sucks because it was honestly the most amazing game upon release. But the reality is, that the game has to be new to get a similar experience. Any changes to the game such as x5 exp, incite change and can bring about excitement or dislike, but familiarity will only bring about boredom eventually.
I fully support the guys who say that the x5 rating is a complete bottom. Moderators, have you ever played Vanilla yourself? Why immediately make the Fun mod, bought from the vendor and went to do garbage. People generally refuse to think and listen to society. Moderators, you just do not give the right to choose to PEOPLE, but leave it only for yourself. The best option is to make a vote, where the fate will be chosen by the people!
I support x5 rate as well with the option to change to x3, x1 if people want to level slower. I don't have time time to level in vanilla at x1 and I'm more interested in end game content and world pvp as a casual player.
The game starts al lvl 1. It doesn't start at lvl 60 or 70 or 80 or in AQ or in BWL or in MC or whatever, and the goal to grind as fast as possible to the endgame content that we experienced a lot of ****ing times already is braindead to the core. Try taking it slow and have your fun as you go through the world.
OR
Quit the ****ing game and stop forcing that "I don't have time" bull**** on me.
The way it currently is, you can select 1x and enjoy the leveling experience. That's what YOU enjoy, and you're free to enjoy it.
Others don't find the leveling fun, and want to experience the end-game content. They can stay on 5x and get to the content they enjoy.
Current situation sounds like a win for both sides...why do you want to remove their ability to find their fun when you already have your ability to do your fun?
I fail to see why Warmane should go by votes. There's a group of people who wants x1, group of people who wants x3, group of people who wants x5. Having adjustable rates should be pleasing for all. Yet some low level rate wanters can't seem to be okay with it, and they feel that in order to enjoy the game, everybody else should play on their rules. A bit silly isn't it.
Want to raid quickly? x5.
Want to level slow? x1.
Want something between? x3.
[Chad option]: Want to play rates you want, but don't want to limit others' fun? Adjustable rates.
It's like adjustable rates is the way to go, and rates discussion should end at that. Of course we can't have nice things like that, so we are stuck on rates discussion loop for all eternity.
