1. Meanwhile I report a Fury Warrior needing tank helmet and finger and he's raiding MC as I read the ticket reply 3 days later.
    Really gets the noggin joggin.

  2. Ignoring your previous reply which leads me to believe you have either not read/understood a word that's been said in this thread or you're simply a forum troll (latter seems more likely).

I'll bite on this one anyway.

Unless warmane has had a vanilla server previously that I've not seen, this is entirely a new dynamic - items and classes were "fixed" in TBC and made much more streamlined, even stuff that dropped from vanilla dungeons. So it is absolutely different... here are some examples:

Can a warrior tank roll on Edgemaster's?
Can a feral druid roll on Shadowcraft?
Can a healer roll on Briarwood Reed?
Can a spellhance roll on spell power gear?
Can rogues roll on Dal'Rend's OH?

Itemization in classic isn't cut and dry - this item = this role. Most of those examples are things that go directly against the "rules" that people in this thread believe refer to ninja looting despite all of them being perfectly valid and for their role. This just highlights the confusion and this whole attitude of "Just try your luck and you might be ban" is ridiculous... so people just have to accept they might be ban if they perceive the vague ninja looting rules differently to the GMs? How's that a healthy attitude for the server.

And none of this addresses the fact that if you say to all warriors or shamans - you cannot roll on DPS gear (their agreed upon MS) while queuing as tank/healer, RDF will become baron and queue times will sky rocket. We want those people to feel like they can tank or heal and still progress their desired route without the threat of being ban.
Don't bother explaining to lich king andies about vanilla itemization. If it isn't homogenized, they wouldn't get it.

Just don't use RDF tool vanilla boy, then you don't have to play by it's rules. Invite your bunch, walk to the dungeon and split the loot in aaaany way you all think is right.

I like how vanilla itemization is some incomprehensible magical thing now. Instead of some argument, example, Edgemasters - tps for tank vs armor value, shared loot pool with dps consequence, alternatives, etc, they go "wotlk plebs wouldn't get it". Lots of people here already have laughable idea that everyone can roll anything, because "it's vanilla".

  4. Pretty sure the ninja policy also applies to dungeons outside RDF?

You don't have to do the work of writing an item-by-item guide of what rolls are acceptable to be able to say that the ninja policy as written for wotlk does not work for vanilla. Someone reports you, you get banned, and the ban is short so appealing is not a solution. Players getting banned for five days because of highly subjective rolls is a problem.

  5. You got banned because you confused what's in your head with reality. Players reported what happened, their opinion or what they consider as what is irrelevant. GM looked at the evidence, observed that rule was broken and gave you ban. Nothing is confusing, everything is perfectly clear.

Don't roll on dps crap as a tank. You tank as fury/etc/whatever and get confused? Read that first sentence again.
You obviosly have no clue about the situation. My ban got appealed by staff as well since they know it was wrongfully conducted.

You are plain wrong and your statement is wrong. Obviosly you need hit as fury warr tank, dosent matter if its leather.

You should really rethink your opinion and not blatantly defend something you obviosly know nothing about.

  6. You obviosly have no clue about the situation. My ban got appealed by staff as well since they know it was wrongfully conducted.
No, that would be you here.
A ban appeal isn't about a player claiming to be innocent, it's about Support checking the case and your history in the server, and deciding whether or not to give you a second chance. You got the remaining duration of the ban removed, that's all. It's still in your records and will be weighted in if another ban happens in the future.

  7. I'm still waiting some examples of items that can get some spec banned while everyone agrees that it's a legit item for that spec.

  8. A fury warrior desperately needs hit so I think a leather item with hit rating in it is appropriate for him, especially if no one else needs it.

Thus greed and talk. Other players might be in same situation, and opting for more appropriate greed roll. I'd feel let down if somebody decided to yoink it through need. Won't help if the person who needed shows no sign of cooperation, understanding or fairness. Result often being the issue being forwarded to a GM in form of a ninja report.

  10. Makes no sense to press greed if you need something. If other players are in the same situation they should've pressed need as well.

  11. I had rogues needing on caster daggers because it does more damage than their weapon,i had hunters needing on mail str/stam gear, because it gives more stamina than their items, people needing on every single item...

One thing i know is that Onyxia staff has been tossing banhammer left and right which is a good thing, but they cant manage everything. You cant even imagine how hard is to deal with 4-5 k tickets ,and dozens and dozens new tickets every single day. People ask all kinds of stuff in tickets, not all of those are reports, important questions or whatever. Tickets are mostly from people who dont know how stuff work,so they think GM's are there to help them out with the quests etc...

  12. Sitting on a 2 day suspension for needing Savage Gladiator Chain as a tank warrior. its best in slot for various reasons, and the hunter that reported me wouldnt even benefit from the strength. seems like system needs a revision for onyxia.

  13. as a relatively unexperienced player, this makes me think twice if i should run dungeons at all. is it worth a potential ban because i don't know what is considered "meta" for my spec (especially while leveling)? i am honestly not sure. is there some kind of list that tells me which items i am allowed to roll on with a certain spec? i guess not but that makes it really hard to know what is allowed for unexperienced players. and sure, i could ask the group but knowing the wow community a little bit... how many people would tell me not to roll because they want the item for themself?

  14. wow didnt knew this was a thing. While I do understand the rules I think the GM who reviews the complains needs to be more human and less like a machine because there are alot of grey areas.
For example, i'm leveling as a feral druid and I qeue as both dps tank and healer. I always need for the spec that I was assigned but lets say I got qeued as a tank. There were instances where it dropped leather items with spirit and intelect. What I do is to check if nobody else needs it before clicking "need" and I ALWAYS tell the party before hand that I will need healer gear if nobody else needs it. now, obviously I will not even try to compete with the healer or dps spellcasters for gear.. otherwise I would be "needing" everything. I think it all comes down to common sense and dialogue.

    This will get you banned.
