I had the pleasure of enjoying the 1v1 event, Deathmatch, and Battle Royale during these holiday events. Here is some feedback regarding these events that would help make them more enjoyable.
Battle Royal is nice and should possibly be added permanently though it has quite a few kinks to work out.
Heal Stone and Mana Gem cannot be used in Battle Royale because they are considered items, this should be fixed as mage and lock rely on these spells to survive.
From a warlock perspective, pets should be summoned instantly when landing. Warlocks have to waste a lot of mana summoning our pet or we must burn Fel Dom right at the start, which leaves us either low mana to start the game or leaves us with no Fel Dom. This is crippling coming from a class that relies on Soul Link heavily in PvP. These issues are present in both Battle Royale and Deathmatch.
Consider classes having buffs when landing, both *Battle Royale* and Deathmatch (to a lesser extent). HP and mana management are critical in these events. Needing to burn mana to cast mandatory class PvP buffs to start the game can leave you already OOM before the game even starts.
Regarding Deathmatch; Remove the knockback effect. Most people I spoke with agreed that this added effect is completely unnecessary and the match would be better without it.
The 1v1 unfortunately for me was disappointing for several reasons. I was looking forward to this event the most. So it was upsetting to see quite a few flaws regarding this event.
Several issues were noticed during this event. Including matches taking way to long, other players having issues spectating, and most 1v1s coming down to /roll because some fights last to long. In fact most of the 1v1 matches during todays event came down to /roll, which made the tournament feel illegitimate. This did not feel like a 1v1 tournament because rather than a match being decided by a players skill in 1v1, most matches came down to whoever was lucky enough to win /roll.
All 3 of these issues could be easily fixed by hosting the event in a designated open area free of LoS. This would allow non-participating players to gather in a pre determined location so they could spectate freely. By removing LoS from these 1v1 events, this would make it to where players could no longer drag matches on endlessly. This greatly shortens the match lengths and also allows for a better experience for participants and spectators instead of just watching endless matches where both players abuse LoS to avoid dying.
Overall it was a good holiday event experience, but clearly quite a few kinks still need to be worked out. Especially with the 1v1 event.
Imo the BRD part of Quest for Ale is a bit too hard/headache considering rewards is only pet or tabard
It's a bit challenging when you do it for the first time without knowing how it works, but as soon as you understand the strategy it becomes easy.
I would think that it's better to have a hard challenge instead of easy one, because easy ones can disappoint players more than pet rewards
The only thing that disappointed me is that PvP Event final reward was Raven Lord, and if you already had one it didn't motivate to compete at all.
I think you should have added multiple choices as reward.
