1. Blackrock TBC crossrealm fiesta

    Hello guys,

I've just discovered that the Blackrock TBC realm is out and will somehow be "merged" with Onyxia.
By "merged" I mean, as stated by Warmane, "Crossrealm Arenas and Battleground" will be available.

Please, for the love of God, Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, Allah, the Illuminati...or whoever, don't do this.

Keep Blackrock TBC as a separate PVP server where those PVP players can enjoy their thing without ruining the game for us who are playing Onyxia progression as it should be.

At this point, you have a huge number of people waiting for TBC to be released. Most of them are preparing characters, professions, consumables, and other stuff that will help them progress in TBC. By progress, I mean leveling, dungeons, professions, etc etc
Those players have to do the work to reach 70 and to be raid-ready.

Just like me, 70% of PVE players are also PVP players.
To be able to PVP in BG's and Arenas you need to do the PVE part before getting some gear, am I right?

So me doing my PVE part to gear up and then to be queued against people that have almost a whole loot table in Shattrah vendors is SUPER unfair.
PVP weapons are bis weapons for some classes and those people will try to get them just to be demolished by those "PVP experts" from Blackrock TBC.
Also, they can buy bis PVE items with Arena points while Onyxia players need to pray for item drops + roll against other members...

There is a lot more behind this and I hope you guys decide not to do this at least for TBC start.
If PVP will be dead on Onyxia TBC (which I'm 100% sure it won't) then you can start thinking of doing this cross-realm thing.

PLEASE DON'T RUIN THE PROGRESSION SERVER BEFORE TBC IS EVEN OUT.
Let it develop and you act accordingly if it's needed.

People are hyped for TBC and they are preparing for it this would ruin the whole progression experience for people who are playing a game but would benefit those who are coming just for PVP.

Problem: Onyxia TBC and Blackrock TBC cross-realm Arenas and BG's
Solution: Keep those 2 realms separated!!!!! /beg

I'm sure people will jump into topic with more reasons why not to do this, please listen to them, they joined Onyxia for real progression.

    Thanks for your time,
    Regards,
    Ephedrine

  2. As a PvP and PvE Onyxia player this is really shady move.

First of all, Onyxia was never advertised as a part of cross-realm BG, after we swallowed the item shop, now, after investing almost a year into Onyxia you bring this? And you even bring it under the radar?!

Getting geared on Blackrock vs getting geared on Onyxia is not even remotely close, which creates UNEQUAL PLAYING FIELD and this is the BIGGEST PROBLEM.

Blackrock player is going to farm BGs for honor and arenas for AP, while playing arenas they are also working towards rating requirements for their BiS items. Note for all of this you need 1 or 2 friends to play arenas with, items are AP and rating gated, but basically guaranteed.

Onyxia player besides all mentioned above, needs to level up, gear up in 5 man, then gear up in HCs, farm proffesions, farm reputations, get attuned to raids, farm gold and consumes for raid, get into a raid with 9 or 24 other people, kill the boss and pray for a desired drop, and have enough luck or DKP to win it. Note for all of this you need guild with at least 24 competent people and item drop is NOT guaranteed to ever drop!

The difference in ammount of work and time required for Onyxia player to gear up is obvious.

So this will just pull pure PvPers from Onyxia to Blackrock (And rightfully so, because why the F*** would they put extra work if they can gear way easier via arenas.) effectively splitting the population.

You already f***ed up one PvP system in Vanilla. Beware not to do it again!

  3. I completely agree, Blackrock TBC should NOT be progressive along with Onyxia.

If I remember correctly from Frostmourne S3, Blackrock players could buy BIS pve trinkets for Honor.
This made the all arena games versus Blackrock players very unfair.

Allthough I like the idea of having faster BG+Arena queues, I really don't think it will be healthy for the PvP on Onyxia.

  4. It's great news that we will have Blackrock TBC!
I absolutely support cross-realm arena and BGs!
Sure, Blackrock players will have to invest less time in their character which might be a bit unfair but we will have a competitive and active arena ladder in return which is great!
Without Blackrock many hardcore PvPers wouldn't even join TBC and arena would be a joke.

  5. I see why you would consider doing cross realm PVP. It might brings some positive aspects to the game, however it depends on the implementation. Just remember the infamous bridge of death in AV!

Everything have consequences and many of them are unforeseen. Few of them have already been mentioned by Sunite and Ephedrine and there will be more!

Please thread carefully or this server WILL DIE, which would be a great shame and possibly a big dark spot on Warmane reputation. We gamers remember and don't forgive easily.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  6. I respect your opinion.
But Onyxia was advertised as the progressive realm and should not be impacted by other PVP realms at any point.

Those "hardcore" PVP players can just go Blackrock and PVP against each other.
The rest of the Onyxia players who want to do only PVP will also join Blackrock, at least I will.

Just keep it separated and there won't be any issues.
Making it cross-realm we will just have the Onyxia population halved and both realms will die kinda fast.

  7. Nah this idea is dog****, gotta be really unique to think it's a smart move to have instant max lvl easy gear players competing versus people actually puting in a lot of time into every detail of a char.

    Just forget it already

  8. Is this some kind of early april fools joke?

I highlighted a key parts for you to read it and understand they don't work together.

    Best regards!

    +1

Tho id say that BG´s would be fine imo, while Arenas is a big no-no. It takes way more time and effort to gear up and get ready for Arenas on Onyxia, why would some bored gladiators get the opportunity to stomp our playerbase without putting in any serious effort into their characters.

Just imagine how easy sniping is gonna become - its so much easier to gear mulitple chars on Blackrock than on the PvE content realms.

  11. +1

    THIS THIS THIS!

I'd like to also mention ghost BGs.

At the top of the ladder Onyxia and Blackrock players will be equally geared and we will see competitive arena matches.
W/o cross-realm arena you'll see on Onyxia PvE heroes fighting against each other on 2k max.

  13. Agreed.
Making BG's cross-realm is let's say fine so Blackrock players can farm honor to get geared up.
But Arena is a different thing because people are playing for Arena status and making it cross-realm would ruin it.
