1. This is a FANTASTIC addition. Well done Warmane staff. Adding in a PVP server will absolutely vitalize the arena ladders and BG queues.

If you're against this, be realistic with yourself. How often are you going to be playing arena? If you're playing just to cap points and potentially get a weapon (most of you vocal minority), then this change does NOT matter for you. At all.

A trinket isn't going to make the difference between you being a 1700 hard capped player and a 2200+ player. I promise you. The amount of dual-glaive rogues that were hard stuck 1700 in classic TBC in s3 was laughable.

This change will bring hundreds of players into the server that wouldn't have previously played. The rank 1 gladiators will play on Blackrock, get their gear, and be 1k mmr above you and you'll never see them. The sample size of where you'll actually be affected, and it'll actually matter and make a difference in a single arena match, is basically 0.

Great idea, Warmane. Thanks for doing this.
Oh dont get us wrong. We are absolutely in favor of having TBC Blackrock - but not merging the ladder with Onyxia. Those hundreds of people can join Blackrock and have fun, among each other. But they shouldnt force Onyxia players to create alts on Blackrock so they dont fall behind on every character they play on Onyxia.

And yeah, both realms will have enough queues, without a merge too. The only difference is: Ego driven glads wont have that much cannon fodder to reach 3k and boast about it in global.

If you want to play with us from Onyxia, do it on the same terms. Would love to see one of those scripting ****s come to Onyxia, waste hundreds of hours and then get banned for it so it actually hurts, unlike on Blackrock where you get back to top10 right away.

Stop making assumptions about Onyxia players when you have no facts on them, while we certainly have the fact that its unfair to have hard earned char progress vs easy char progress.

*edit: Nice 2 week old forum account, exactly the person to speak about Onyxia playerbase and whats good for us or not :)

  2. But they shouldnt force Onyxia players to create alts on Blackrock so they dont fall behind on every character they play on Onyxia.
Fall behind how? To be clear, your point is that if someone on blackrock gets a ZA trinket before you do, that they'll automatically win a match that they shouldn't have won and it will be noticeably harder for you to win matches?

Be realistic with yourself man. That's just not the case. A cross-realm pvp server is a fantastic idea and it will bring much needed life to the pvp side of this TBC experience. You can still cap your 10 games and get a glad player to boost you to your weapon, don't worry.

I'd rather the rank 1 players be on Onyxia tbh, not in a lobby.

  4. Even though I'm a pvp player, I would like to view all content.
If I have the opportunity to get everything at once and for free, I don’t see any point in playing Onyxia.
if I knew this would happen, I wouldn't waste time preparing the character, it's unfair

Why is this? It only really matters if you're buying boosts, right? Either way, you'll never actually see them in the arena.

I've prepped 3 characters on Onyxia and I feel your pain, but am still very happy that blackrock is coming out.

No. As in I would rather have the best pvp players exist in the world I'm in. Being able to run into them in the open world. Especially if they are going to raid as well in order to get the best gear. Rank 1 is actually pretty cool, and having those ppl out and about on the server is much more prefferable to me than having them separate from the entire ecosystem.

  8. I am mainly a PVP player on Onyxia.

Merging Blackrock Arena's and to a lower extent BGs with Onyxia's would literally kill the PVP scene.

I myself would opt out of playing any pvp, knowing that i will be facing players that have an unfair advantage with instant pvp ready gear. i would rather just create an instant character on blackrock with gear, and start from there. If i decide to play on it at all.

Onyxia will become a PVE only experience for me, and again that is if i decide to play on it at all.

  9. anyway pretty useless to post here since we have the pve ppl on one side that need to get every possible advantage they can and prevent any even playing field via blackrock from happening and the pvp players on the other side that are happy they can play the game they like and not being slaved to weekly pve lockouts and the mercy of their loot council

at the end of the day it is up to warmane staff to decide what is best and i know a lot of players that look forward to getting the instant 70 blackrock tbc server, because a populated server like this does not currently exist and is very well anticipated and appreciated

wrong, unless the realm is in it's final phase blackrock will ALWAYS have a massive advantage. That alone is reason enough not to have it mixed up with Onyxia.

This is my real account. I came to Warmane to play TBC and I just started. Do you not have a response to what I said? Crazy deflection you just did there my dude.

  12. Seems to me most of the ppl who say anything about handicapping Blackrock are actually just against the merger, but are assuming the merger is gonna go ahead anyway and are suggesting ways of (as they see it) even out the playing field.

I'm all for ppl who just wanna pvp on an instant 70 server, but I want nothing to do with that server.

  13. Make cross-realm arena opt-in only (like mercenary mode) and not affect rating

  14. I actually encourage Warmane to release the Blackrock TBC realm don't get me wrong.
I would like it to be full as well.
Just don't make that merging step into Onyxia and let us play the realm we joined to play in the first place which is progressive vanilla/tbc/wotlk without other realm interacting.
The community is kinda big atm and will become even bigger with pre-patch.

Two weeks here and already the audacity to speak about whats best for Onyxia players?

If you dont want to play PvE, but only PvP, enjoy Blackrock, no one is saying anything against Blackrock on its own.

But mixing "us" from Onyxia with Blackrock is harming "our" realm. Why? Simple - why should ANYONE invest hours and hours to get an alt ready for PvP on Onyxia now, when they can join Blackrock and face everyone from both realms? Immediate negative impact on our realm.

Now lets get to the PvP points:
    - You find easier mates on Blackrock, because there is no long playtime needed to get right into arenas
    - You can snipe anyone from Onyxia easier, because it takes you 1min to get to 70, while it takes us at least 10h on 3x (+the money for boosting)
    - You can exactly calculate what gear you are gonna get when through arenas/bg, while i do have to make long term bonds with people in order to raid on a decent level so i have a rng based chance of getting my PvE bis items
    - You can use scripts any time, get banned and create a new char to play arenas again vs me, while if i get banned for those ill have to spend dozens of hours again

I could write so much more about this, but if you dont have the intellectual capacity to see more than your own wishes, its a waste of time.

Ive invested already too much time to quit Onyxia, and for me a joint ladder is a bonus as there is more people to farm. But ill hate the fact that any PvP alts wont need to play with us on Onyxia on the same terms, while being able to play against us in arenas. And trust me, i know already 10 people which gave up on leveling their arena alts on Onyxia cause they can do it way easier now on Blackrock.
