I feel like you guys genuinely believe that if 1000 players were about to join Blackrock, and it wasn't available, those same 1000 players would join Onyxia and engage in 5mans/BGs/raids/etc.
It's closer to like 100 (if that) of the 1000 would join Onyxia. So yes, Blackrock existing is going to cannibalize the tiniest % of players that you guys could have had... so sorry!!!
I had that sentiment more than once while reading your "thoughts" but happy to hear it is mutual :D
^this. Without Blackrock I know a ton of people that will have zero desire to play because of the PVE grinding. They like bg grinding/doing arena. The whining here about Blackrock is vile. You have no idea what you're complaining about 99% of the time based on the arguments I've read in here. I myself will play multiple different classes now because of Blackrock. I have a character on Onyxia that I will raid on but I will create multiple pvp alts on Blackrock now. It's such a massive win.
this is my last post to you and the 2nd time im asking whats your toons name on onxyia?hit me up and lets run some bgs together and kills some reds.. we can test the skill thing would be fun.
zkers call trinket.. gorehowl.. just random examples of of how gearing is different on the two servers..
no one really uses gorehowl "or axe" for pvp in TBC unless... its the ONLY/best weapon said player has access to at the time...
but i dont need to keep listing examples of gear for you to TRY and spin what i say around...
i will just use non gear item as your example..
"Something cool and extremely low priority that I'm not sure is a thing on Blackrock currently, is the potential for adding the more rare mounts on the TR at a high rating requirement/arena point cost. Like the bird from Sethekk Halls requiring 2400 rating and 4k arena points or something. Could be an interesting way to dump points."
let me ask you WTF do you need the mount from Sethekk Halls for as a pvp on an arena relm?yeah yeah only example sure.. buts thats my point and it apples to everything..
players on onxyia have to FARM that herioc for countless days/months/ to have a CHANCE at even seeing it drop..now lets add in how hard it is to even find groups on onxyia.. how long does it take for rdf to pop.. if it ever does...finding groups killing bosses running dungeons most dont want to run... not an issue on blackrock...
heres info right from warmane itself in the blacrock thread... good example...
HOW TO GET SHADOWMOURE on blackrock... remember only an EXAMPLE..
Greetings to everyone that ever wanted to empower his Shadow's Edge into Shadowmourne.
In this guide you will find all 12 quests + a few pre quests you need to complete in order to do so.
And as said above, since you are empowering Shadow's Edge, a condition to complete the quests is to wear
that weapon, while wearing any other weapon you will not make any progress in any of the quests.
You can either get it for 2520 arena points with 1800 rating in any bracket, or you can get if for 25 coins in the shop.
Shadowmourne for 1800 rating and 2520 arena points.. LMFAO!
can you say skill...
thats how one gets Shadowmourne on blackrock correct? thats faster and much much easier then raiding for it...seems fair..
that EXAMPLE can be used for any and all gear here on onxyia.. and like you said i used a few other examples as well..even rep and profession that you somehow keep forgetting.. why farm gold on onxyia to sink into professions? better off just selling on store for coins and buying what you want from shop..like blackrock in a way right lol.
not about arena flushes or how many weeks it takes to get an items.. its about the different way and access to gear the TWO different serves have.. you asking for bird from Sethekk Halls.. lol.
its hard to find groups on onxyia for say dungeons.. or atturments.. if i can find a group for UBRS i can get my ony attument done...no joke..then i can do my first raid here on onxyia if one can find a group for it... so yeah im sure groups will be super easy to find on onxyia for Sethekk Halls mount easy place to farm usually. But no worry of that for black rock players right...
lucky for me i did not level professions...crazy thing is until warmane updated the shop like a month or two ago i was using the neck from the hinterlands elite quests.. thats not an issue for blackrock players...
again love the idea of a TBC pvp realm but if the same rules dont apply to both servers 100% its broken..
you buying the bird from Sethekk Halls froma vendor for AP is fine on blackrock.. but if i cant do the same on onxyia.. its broken.
zker call same thing// gorehowl same thing..
Shadowmourne...why buy t1 weapons at 1800 when you can buy shadowmounre..
Apolyon, the Soul-Render.. same thing..should not be sold on one server for AP but not on another...
professions
rep.. same thing..
you get my point now? bird from Sethekk Halls...all about the pvp...

Butkus, would you really be angry if you saw someone on blackrock riding Ravenlord? I'm really just having trouble understanding your thought process on why that would be any sort of issue.
What if you just put PvP gear on Onyxia for badge of justice?
If Blackrock can get PvE gear by doing PvP then why wouldn't Onyxia be able to get PvP gear by doing PvE content? It's like that on 3.3.5 you can purchase PvP gear with emblems.
And then gems, enchants and consumables should also be buyable for honor points on Onyxia.
That's the core issue of the complaints is Onyxia players have to play the actual game to win at PvP and put in effort while Blackrock players can make 5 toons at once and half heartedly afk them in a battleground. Do you see how that robs from the blizzlike experience? I could care less personally, but that's why people are mad. And you know just as well as I do implementing changes like that on Onyxia would break things, but it breaks it just as much allowing another realm to do it.
The Merging with Blackrock Bgs and Arena would kill the PVP activity on Onyxia. No dedicated PVP player would want to start the season at a disadvantage, and hundreds if not thousands of PVP players, would just switch from Onyxia to Blackrock, in order not to get left behind.
If cross-realm Arenas and Battlegrounds are introduced, making them opt-in only (similar to Mercenary mode) would be the most beneficial approach. This would allow players to choose whether or not they want to compete against players from the other realm, minimizing any potential negative impact.
You do realize that both Blackrock and Onyxia players need to farm BGs to get the same PvP gear, correct? You want to reduce the amount of total PvP on the server by making these BG-farmable items available for badges? You are suggesting something that would reduce the amount of total PvP on Onyxia, even for players on Onyxia that like the game mode.
Read through the thread, especially my post about item progression and arena flushes. Then formulate an opinion as to why you think Onyxian players are at a disadvantage, then come back and state your opinion. Your concerns have already been addressed multiple times.
I think I can safely speak for [blackrock players] when I say that we don't care at all what perks/changes/incentives are provided to Onyxia players. The sole thing we want is an active PVP scene, and the ability to farm your gear without relying on ~24 other people for raiding.
The argument that Blackrock players can "half heartedly afk bgs" doesn't make any sense - you can do the exact same thing on Onyxia. Also if you look at the current prices of gear on their PTR, it is very obvious that a Blackrock player is going to have to invest more time /played than an Onyxia player in order to get the base level of gear that they want. The starter gear on the PTR is very lackluster (not saying that is a problem) and an Onyxia player, with their 1+ week head start should very easily have better gear than that.
The complaints that Blackrock will cannibalize the Onyxia population is also pretty weak imo. At most I would say about 10% of the hypothetical Blackrock playerbase would be willing to play on Onyxia
And just to clarify it isn't just a 25 page heated topic on these forums. All the guilds are talking about this.
I'm upset about it because key players in my guild don't want to continue anymore as a result of this decision. It's a really big deal.
Months and months of making memories and friendships down the drain. And that could've continued and become something great. I will still play and I'm ok, but people are mad. Pages and pages outside of these forums of anger and frustration. I fear many influential players in the community will be stepping away.
Threats to quit because of changes that aren't in someone's specific best interest have been happening across the entire 20-year course of WoW's history. They never actually quit. Everyone comes back, has fun, and the cycle resets next expansion or big patch.
How exactly does this change anything for the people of Onyxia? So many things are going over your heads lol.
