Was about to create a different topic but it is kinda relevant to the post name.
I dont know if anybody else encountered damage variation on The Botanica normal, sometimes it is a breeze and can double pull if i get good DPS.
Other times i get melted by a single trash pack and have to surrender at the area with satyrs.
An example when things are OK, the falconeer pack hit me for 500+800 from dash x3, but when it feels like it is on HC i get hit by 1000+1500 x3.
It is in normal because well I checked the dificulty, same with the other people inside, and we managed to kill the first 2 bosses and no badge dropped.
It happened to me at least 2 times. I dont know if it happened to anybody else (always using RDF).
Your "many people" isn't even two dozen players. Calling my pointing out things are working as they should "bad faith," when you try to make it as some global issue keeping people from progressing, while there are hundreds of characters leveling and getting to max level just fine, just tells me you need to check the mirror.
It's not going to happen.
There is multiple threads about RDF. I wanted to focus on leveling through RDF. I was pointing out that there is 12000 player online and 1hour+ queues during prime time, point which you completely ignored. People obviously dont play RDF as much because its a waste of time in current setting. You trying to be passive aggressive and downright insulting people is not adressing issue at all.
I already addressed the """issue""" twice. I have a feeling third time won't be the charm, though.
It's not going to happen.
Just to answer some things.
Badges of Justice do not drop from heroics atm, that was added in a later patch.
All instances have been tuned to match retail data collected during patches 2.3 and 2.4. This data isnt guessed, its how it was set during tbc (there were some typos here and there but that was ironed out before the release)
The thread is about dungeon damage. Now you're making it about RDF queue times and not being able to level how you want.
You missed that train. We've been here two months already. The majority server population (these 12000 players) are in the endgame. They're farming, they're raiding, they're questing, they're getting attunements, or doing PvP. With exp rates at X3 here leveling is such a teeny tiny portion of the game right now. Not only that you can buy level 70 for 20 coins or you can pay someone to boost you. The pool of players for lower level 60 dungeons is small.
You get to level 70 and then you get options. The game actually starts. Leveling 60 - 70 is probably the easiest part of the game. If you're having issues with that then absolutely you should consider a different game with a story mode maybe where you can never die.
Just do quests while in the RDF que and you'll be in a dungeon before you know it. Obviously it's gonna take longer than at 70, since not many want to level as purely tank or healer, in which case doing even a single quest would be a big challenge for them, or has dual spec just for this purpose. This has been the same on every server ever made, and it's not something that could be fixed easily anyway.
As for the difficulty, I recall the retail back in 2007 being pretty much the same. In P1 only the better half of the players even got into heroics, since the gear required to succeed - especially as tank - was extremely high, and everyone knew it. Even with normals people usually waited until lvl 61 or even 62 to get plenty of TBC gear pieces from quests so that they actually stand a chance in Ramps or BF. And not too surprisingly, most of the tanks joining RDF at 60-67 were ferals, since they're the only ones who can also easily do quests with the same build.
This is insane that people are finding ramps normal hard. My leveling group steamrolled through ramps and we were not in vanilla bis raiding gear. We started a few weeks before tbc launch. And same with out fresh alts. If anything this server is too easy and the raids especially are even easier than the classic tbc versions. I don't understand how some people are struggling on this server. My group was just mass pulling 3-4 packs in ramps normal and aoeing everything down. So I don't think it's the dungeon being hard at all it just sounds like a group issues tbh. And if they are struggling with ramps normal then idk what they are gonna do in heroics where you TRULY need to cc mobs or have like near bis gear and a skilled experienced group to just aoe things down with perfect coordination to make it "easy." you probably just got a really bad group man idk what else to say because I have never even come close to this issue in any of the normal dungeons.
Exactly this. And this is why we get raids that are pathetically easy like on here because most the casual player base whines and whines and whines and can't be bothered to just try and get better at the game and use teamwork to down harder content and do something more fullfilling then just steamrolling through pathetic mobs that couldn't break their way out of a wet paper bag. What is so rewarding about that experience? People just want loot filled pinatas they can go in with 25 people who never played the game, click every ability, back peddle, etc etc and down every dungeon and raid boss on the first pull no problem. I do not and will never understand this mindset or how people find this fun or get any level of satisfaction or sense of accomplishment. Back in the day when I was new and very bad at the game as we all were at one point I wasn't able to kill every raid boss and struggled with heroic dungeons etc. But I saw others who did and the gear they had and I thought they looked so cool and powerful and I wanted that for myself and it motivated me to learn the game and get better. And I progressively got better all the time and joined better and better guilds and would progress in raids for weeks and when we finally would get that end boss kill it felt so amazing and rewarding and all the nerd screams and everyone so happy and complimenting each other and we built so many amazing memories and friendships from it that still last to this day man. Now days people just want to group up with a bunch of randoms they don't know and want to be able to not even talk and just steamroll all the content and say gg and log off. And instead of struggling through it together and having that connection and building those friendships, memories and bonds through the struggle and pain with the amazing pay off, instead they just use it as a way to get angry at each other, be toxic, say everyone is **** but themselves, or blame the server/game for their failings. Classic wow and other versions like wotlk/retial LFR have totally destroyed the old school mentality of the player base and ruined the game imo. And now people will never truly experience the amazing things me and so many others did back in the day by struggling through the hard content and still finding fulfillment and a extremely rewarding experience through progression of content that couldn't just zerged down by any group of casual players who are brand new to the game. I guess the only people still having that experience now days would be mythic raiders in retail. Sadly though me and most of the pserver community don't enjoy the retail version of the game for many other reasons.
That is not the reason why queues are so long man. They are so long because most the player base has already done that content and is spamming heroic dungeons, farming gold, doing raids, or some just rather quest for because it's usually faster. That's how the realm first 70 leveled. It is not because people are just wiping nonstop in normal dungeons and CBA with it all. Also queue times are always long on every server I have ever played on. They are actually a lot shorter on here than most. I got 4 normal dungeons yesterday and they all popped within like 15-20 min while I was farming the oblivion set from SL normal on my main warlock. We had no issues with the content, the biggest issue is the player base and people being bad and *** pulling packs, afking, ninja looting, or just being total dicks all around. If anything the content here needs a big buff because it's insanely way too easy and makes the raids especially feel very unrewarding from a progression point of view.
Meant to quote this in the above message
Also I meant to say they are always long as a dps. As a healer and especially a tank the queue times are significantly shorter since there is a lot fewer people who play those roles and fewer spots needed in end game content for those roles. A raid only need 2 maybe 3 tanks and a couple healers. But like 15 dps. So yes if you're a dps player there is just a lot lot lot more of you trying to squeeze through a single "door" so there is going to be a long line. Whereas tanks and healers its a much smaller group trying to fit through that same "door" so the line to get in is vastly shorter. If you want very quick queues the only solution to that is playing a tank or healer and there is nothing any admin or server can do about that since it is 100% a player made and fundamental game issue with world of warcraft pve.
Yeah man dungeons were never designed to be the path to leveling. They were made to get some gear to help you with leveling and to finish a handful of quests connected to that dungeon for XP. Classic wow made it a thing to spam dungeons to level easier. But questing has always been meant to be your main way to level. And the fastest levelers use questing to level. You're basically just complaining that the game wasn't designed by blizzard to be dungeon farmed and only became a viable leveling strategy years down the road when good players learned all the dungeons in and out and had gear and went in with pre made well coordinated groups who had the ability to spam dungeons quickly enough to make it better than questing for them. But even with that questing is still faster. Again the realm first and 2nd 70's got to 70 just 5 min apart from each other through questing even vs T3 geared, coordinated, max profession stacked dungeon spamming groups.
So because you don't have the irl schedule that allows you to play a old school type MMO that is now the MMO's/Devs problem? It sounds like you just need to find a different game to play because your rl sadly doesn't allow you to fit wow tbc into your schedule anymore. There is also other versions of the game you can play that are more casual friendly. Or you could also just make your own groups like how people did in original tbc and classic tbc without RDF. It's faster and you can pick and choose the players you go with so you wouldnt have to worry about having a bad group. But it sounds like you just want everything your way done fast with 0 effort on your part. Sadly that's not how tbc is or ever has been. And this server has already made everything so much more casual/user friendly compared to any other tbc server man. Like come on.
