Ok so I tell you, Monday was the last time I logged into my warmane account, I had around 52-53k of gold in my main account, this was on Monday March 3, today Wednesday March 5, I have exactly 26299 gold in my account I just want to know WHAT HAPPENED TO MY GOLD?
Does anyone have any idea what could have happened?

That reminds me of the annual inactivity cleanup and gold squish Warmane does around February/March. Could those be linked?

Yes, every year we slice the gold in half for everybody. Onyxia was spared this year. Most likely Frostwolf will too next year.

Yes, and it was announced on the forums well ahead of time.
You didn't actually lose anything relatively speaking, though. Everything on the AH has had it's worth halved, and coins on trade are like 50% less then they were. The only thing that's gotten more expensive, relatively speaking, is vendor items. Unless you're a new player who were farming gold for epic flying or something, you basically didn't lose anything.Edited: March 6, 2025
