As far as I can tell, they are not adding it to the game. Even if it’s extremely rare, someone would have it by now. Haven’t seen it in the world, and no one on the pvp ladder has it when I look on armory.
I think it’s safe to say it is not going to be available, which is probably for the best for the health of PVP - it was too centralizing on the original retail and heavily nerfed for Classic.

From what I can tell it was added in 2.4.0 with the release of Sunwell.

If it was added in a content patch we haven't reached yet, it's not supposed to be in Onyxia yet.

Deathfrost came out in March of 2008 which is why it was a relevant enchant for TBC. So, if I am understanding you correctly, because of Onyxia's timing we won't have a TBC enchant until WOTLK? That's pretty wild.

look man, if they really want to add it to the game, they will add it in p5 *in a different matter*. It's not like it *has* to drop from this particular boss during this particular event. also I hope they dont add it cause this used to stack with mind-numbing poison, iirc

I mean in terms of a "Blizzlike" server experience, I think they should add it in the appropriate patch in some form. I don't personally use it, but I had guildies asking about it. A confirmation of will it or will it not be in the game during TBC is enough for me :)
