I am currently searching for a more slow paced woltk server and I also want to avoid the toxicity of the players in the Icecrown server. But I feel like I am a bit late the party for the Lordaeron server, knowing that Onyxia will go through WOLTK in a few month. I was wondering if this sentiment I have is true, and if players in Lordaeron are mostly waiting for Onyxia' WOLTK.
It is never late to join this server because even if you are last player to ever join this server then you will reach the same "endgame" as others at your own pace. That is because the server is permanently on the same patch without any progression content wise so you cant be late.
Toxicity is here too just make sure to never engage in global chat discussions or wpvp's as horde and you can mostly avoid it ... that is unless you get camped 24/7 as a low lvl and cant really do much there other than switching zones.
As far as i know this lordaeron server is the only one good scripted x1 long life realm to play on in wotlk expansion. (others from warmane are same quality and patches from tbc from onyxia are actually applied to old content in lordaeron too)
And no most lordaeron players dont wait for onyxia or other seasonal servers because we prefer to max out gear (that can take months or years) and do achievements or other stuff and stay where we are instead of getting transfered to icecrown x7 realm at the end... the very same realm you are trying to escape from.
Some people are just tired of restarting progress all the time most of these ppl are in lord server.
Play on the server that causes you the least stress or no stress at all.
Choose the one where you are least likely to find toxic players and who gives you the most pleasure, the most satisfaction.
No its not too late. Nobody here waits for Onyxia bruh, we just like the server that never changes to have endless time for minmaxing and achis and ****ing around ;D. What is your chars name?
I recently joined the Lordaeron server and I have to say it's a really well-maintained 1x. So far I haven't encountered any problems with toxic players, and attacks from the opposing faction are normal (PVP should also rightly have its place).
This server has been going very very strong untouched. I have chars that have been doing icc since 2016 and i still play them from time to time. I’m also leveling a new one now. Never too late. This is truly a forever home
Hi, same question but with considering: Wotlk Endgame was just looking for ICC and the right GS and old stuff like naxx and ulduar never been made again. Is this server on this status? BR

Not everyone plays with this rush to go immediately and only in one or two raids and skip everything else.
So, not only icc or rs, some players or guilds also do naxx and ulduar for both achievements and equipments
They are players who prefer to play more calmly and who like to take some naxx stuff, to move on to ulduar and then toc, gradually, enjoying the game.
I've played so many servers, fun or blizzlike or custom or buggy messes and 100% without shilling I must say:
Warmane - Lordaeron specifically, is probably the best WOTLK experience known to humankind, other than having played back in the day.
If you find too many toxic people "imrpovedignore" or "ignoremore" addon and add them to the list.
I have 4x 80s and some of them pretty geared, I've made friends along the way on every character I've leveled (all of them are horde).
It's never too late, it's even better for you, comps, strategies, addons, everything is more figured out than ever before, you'll have an easier time clearning some content than some of us had when we joined.
This beats any blizz or other pserver for 1 another fact : longest lasting wow real ever.
Year after year, no matter what life throws at you and either you're busy or having a blast around the world, you can always put wow on pause and come back and everything is always here waiting for you to log back, and never disappoints: guilds raiding, pugs going on, weeklys, voas, etc.
Queues are always fast in EU peak times. I've never found any other server with a better experience than this. I've tried many. Warmane to me remains the undefeated king.
Leveling can be daunting in x1, get rested, avoid very busy areas or have friends or a leveling / pvp guild with geared 80s to bodyguard you in STV or Hellfire. And yeah PvP it is what it is, specially on your first playthrough without an 80 alt or that much gold.
Another positive, literally "no inflation" compared to any other "normal" realm, due to Warmane's gold halving in febuary.
There is no top % of players who are so unfathomably filthy rich that any profession BoE sells for 100k gold on AH ever. That will never happen here because of the gold halving, AH prices are kept honest (they double over the course of the year and always come back down to half too).
Depending on how many people are playing generating gold, that's the amount of gold around the server: this means as a new player your experience is never hindered by inflation, you will enjoy your prof perks and your AH interactions do not pose a huge disadvantage vs older players.
Also on Lordaeron, due to older content being made more challenging, there is a very nice replay loop that I haven't seen replicated elsewhere. you will find many people with BIS or near BIS characters doing all sorts of content, from achievements, pet farms, mount farms, rep for vanity items, finding odd quest items that change their appearance, and specially just farming emblems, recipes or gold to help gear their alts.
Even "maxed out" characters keep playing, finding new things to do, farming more Tmog scrolls and going into TBC Tmog runs, or just now that they're really geared enjoying the social aspect of their guild or discord, raiding w friends, helping their friends out and just enjoying their content and performing to the best of their abilities on some challenging content.
I've also wanted to find more realms like this for Vanilla or TBC, I've rolled on Onyxia found many Lordaeron friends there, it was a huge success ofc due to playing on 3.3.5a client but Vanilla content instead of the dated and clunky 1.12 client.
Sadly, no one else comes close of delivering this experience.
I've also found a "challenging tuned" TBC realm that I loved but when I had to work a bit more, and I came back falling behind in the progression TBC is very unforgiving unlike WOTLK, where there is loads of horizontal content at endgame and you have so many things you can choose to do.
In TBC, progression is very vertical and step by step, very alt unfriendly with the reputation grinds, no heirlooms, lack of tokens during early phases.
I've been considering even looking for a level 70 twink guild. (I've seen sometime a group on Icecrown and other on Lordaeron)
I also played with some level 60 twink dudes once, as I was leveling a warrior I did UBRS with those guys and it was a blast!
The people who talk about toxic playerbase, it's not warmane specific thing, it's youtube, trends, influencers, classic release, wow got a lot of new attention, and a lot of new people to come with it.
Only very few niche communities can avoid it, and usually its due to very strict moderation, otherwise ppl can be really bad and sometimes it's even worse on fresh servers where everyone think's they're going to be doing realm firsts of some kind and act like anyone around them is just a stepping stone, or others who think they're going to make their huge breakthrough on youtube and live as wow content creators lolol. Some really weird interactions specially on fresh classic+ since that's the hype.
wotlk is just not as "trendy" as it used to be nowdays, and it was noticeable that many people moved from Lordaeron to Onyxia, but grinding TBC just to have it all turn to Wotlk and merge into Icecrown was not what I would like. But since the plan of that seasonal is to go from vanilla to tbc to wotlk, it would not make sense to have 3 wotlk realms stuck in endgame progression. If it stayed vanilla evergreen or tbc evergreen, with some custom warmane changes to make it as fun and nice as lordaeron, then that would've been my dream to experience those expacs but have them last forever and always come back to them just like i do here.
Even regarding some gameplay mechanics, the way some classes or spells or items work, I would recommend you to experience what Lordaeron has to offer.
After a few years here, you won't tolerate half the bugs and weird things going around on some other pservers.
You will get used to a certain "gold standard".
Idk but ever since I played warmane, in many servers I've been I always had this experience like "something here ain't right" or "that's not working as intended, or as it was supposed to" and I end up thinking "if only warmane had done this realm, this would be working so much better".
Very rare or few exceptions to this. Many times I played elsewhere, ended up feeling I should just be playing here, and I'm wasting my time there.
