1. Loot-banning for RL disrespect

I've been raid leading ICC25 (8/12 HC) pug, and I started getting insults from couple raid members who didn't like how I was leading the group. Normally, I instantly kick anyone who insults me, but this time I decided to make them mad and lootban them instead without telling them. However, when I didn't let them roll on any loot, they left the raid and threatened me with reports. I don't think lootbanning is that bad compared to kicking them out entirely, since they were still able to get Emblems of Frost from the next bosses.
Do you think it was fair punishment for disrespect?

  2. "Loot banning without telling them"
So you wanna keep using them for ur own benefits then leave them with no look they worked for it ? XD
First of all loot banning is against rules you cant just loot ban whoever you wish if they participated in kill certain boss they take part of rolling in that loot its as simple
But your scammy rl who will "loot ban" people with interest on the gear rl want so he can get it without competition
Anyway my guy what you just is called ninja looting hopefully you are ready to take long vacation (ban) from the server

They worked for EoFs, better than nothing

I don't find any official rule regarding loot banning players. Mind to share?

How is that ninja looting, I didn't loot a single item to myself that run.
People must learn that disrespecting raid leaders will not be tolerated. Never cut a branch you're sitting on.

  4. You should look up this topic about lootbans and how things are handled: https://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=462780

tl,dr: You're egligible for a ban with your ****ty behaviour.

  5. You either kick & replace them or you tell them you're not gonna let them roll for drops so you don't waste anybody's time. Especially since it's not your friend nor your guildmate, it's a pug run. Never before had I heard of "loot banning" in ~17ish years of WoW.

Extremely simple: If your rules didn't specify you can get loot banned from RL disrespect, you changed raid rules in middle of the raid, which can be reported as it qualifies as ninja.

Reporting Players [Updated: August 13, 2025]

Them getting EoF has no whatsoever weight in this.

Loot bans aren't against rules, but all people in the raid needs to know what can get you loot banned, it needs to be clear enough. "Loot bans at my discretion" isn't specific. "Loot ban for failing a raid mechanic that results in raid wipe, such as not moving away from orange ooze during PP fight causing a wipe" is specific enough. That loot ban failing on PP tactics also only counts for THAT boss, not any else. There's no "you failed on PP so you're now loot banned and can't roll on DBW."

Do note that if you kick people and bosses have been killed, you need to roll the items they are eligible for, too.

Thanks for the explanation. From now on, I'll just instantly kick them from the raid without giving them a chance to get their emblems.
Kicking someone from the raid shouldn't have any negative consequences, since there's a fair reason for it, right?
For example, I've seen Tavi kick Warriors for not doing Sunders or Paladins for not providing buffs in time, even for something as small as a Ret having T10 gloves. In my opinion, disrespecting the raid leader is even worse, since it disrupts the entire raid dynamic.

You're only shooting yourself in the foot with your ego trip.

  9. This is the most gradeschool drama thing I have ever read

disrespecting a raid leader doesnt do anything other than hurt their little ego, in case the criticism is valid and they dont want to admit it. the fact that you keep talking about people disrespecting you out of nowhere for no reason whatsoever, but give no example, I'll go ahead and assume you are the problem, espacially with how you think denying people to roll on loot of the bosses they killed, is in any way justifiable. Having a little crown on your portrait doesnt mean you are right by default or you can treat the people in your group like that.

  11. If they took proper screenshots for a report, expect a ban.
I can only picture it not happening if they don't bother reporting or are unfortunately missing one of the required screenshots.

  12. It always depends on the GM that reviews your ticket at the end of the day...
