And that doesn't mean that Enha is better than Ele. The fastest LOD for shamans on UWU is 7.01m. The shaman in the raid appears to be an enha. The fastest fight for top1 ele sham is 9.15m. Two minutes is a big difference my guy. Now what do we conclude out of it?
The data is inconsistent. Once you put both specs in similar raids with similar kill times, you can compare the results and i guarantee ele would smash the enha.
Would it be fair to say that Ele has the edge in Sustained DPS and Enhancement has the edge in Burst?
No. Enha is better. Even on short fights.
But then again, especially on lordaeron, your main issue isn't enha or ele. It's "do I even get a spot anywhere to begin with" or not. Anything past dungeons or a tuesday night 3/12 pug run is gonna be tough getting into.
I don't see why Lordaeron would be that much more snobby about who gets to go to what raids. Then again, I think GS requirements for most pug raids are way higher then they have any business being (5.5kgs for VoA10? The hell?).
When it comes to bias towards certain specs lordaeron is like icecrown turned to 11. And you can either try denying it or suck it up and work your best around it. Calling facts "snobby" won't change them.
But just so you maybe get an idea: If you play Warrior you're gonna be fury. Mage? Fire. Hunter? MM. Rogue? Combat. Warlock? Demo please.
For certain classes like DK you maybe see one frost out of 10. Maybe one cat per 20 Boomkins. Same for affli warlocks. Non-Fire Mages are pretty much unheard of. Just like non-combat rogues or warriors not playing fury.
And 5.5k for voa10? Yeah. Tad high. Good luck getting into a decent icc25 with less than 5.8k and an achiv though - that's just how pugs are. They want their gear. Not help you get yours.
lordaeron is having much harder content compared to icecrown, and the majority of people probably wouldnt be too excited to invite a low-ish geared enha who thinks his engi glove enchant is on gcd and enha has a haste cap, if they can get a 6.4k warrior who has done the raid 20 times instead
I have a 5,540 Prot Pally that's only a hundred frosties away from full T10's and I can't even get into an ICC10N.
the data is extremely clear, the top 14 shamans on lod are enha (multiple of them at the same fight duration as the ele), same for marrowgar, on pp it's 10. enha does more dmg than ele on icecrown in the vast majority of cases. ele doesnt beat enha on a single fight
Nope. I'd play an Arms Warrior, an Arcane Mage, a BM Hunter, an Assassinate Rogue, an Affliction Warlock, and my DK specs would be Blood for DPS and Frost for tanking.
ye, people ask for very high gs, because the server is old and most people have that high gs. 5-7years ago, I got into icc10s at 5k gs prot warrior quite easily, but it were also 4hr 4boss adventures. people have high expectations, low patience and good alternative people to join.
I do think however that at that gs you can find some group that goes 4-8 bosses and build up from that. it's a frustrating spot to be in and will take some begging for an invite to get over. Just dont make people regret to give you a chance, as "low geared" people without experience usually doing badly is the main reason the average leader doesnt want them
that is quite literally choosing the more boring, less skillbased specc on purpose to do considerably less dmg. arcane mage, bdk dps, assa rogue and bm hunter might be the 4 out of 4 most bland speccs in all of wotlk
I feel that's exactly what Combat Rogue is. You're just smacking things in the face and nothing else. Assa and Subtlety at least has to play for backsides and be super mindful of positioning.
As for healing, MAYBE I'd consider playing a Priest for it, but if I do it's gonna be Holy, NOT Disc. I want to HEAL, not throw bubbles around.
You know trying to be a special snowflake just for the sake of playing something different doesn't make any of those specs desire- or useable. Especially without the gear to support most of those specs. You're just going to achieve a reputation of being a stubborn egocentric guy attempting to force his way.
Every class has to be mindful of positioning regardless of spec. Otherwise you die, do terrible dps or kill your tank.
For holy priest - see above.
Considering the rest of your posts I'd guess why: You display the wrong attitude. Sit back and learn the ropes first. It's a tough spot to have no achievements or reputeable guild backing you up on lordaeron - and especially pug leaders don't want to bother with teaching.
There's havi's discord if you want to improve your chances of getting into decent raids though. I can share a link if you want it.
I've been highly picky about committing to a raiding guild because A. I already raid with a top-end guild alliance in Everquest TAKP, we do Plane of Time every two weeks which is an 8-hour commitment alone, over two days.
And B. I've yet to find one that does NOT use Loot Council as its primary means of distributing loot, a system that I abhor because I've seen it be the downfall of more than a few guilds on Live. I'm looking for DKP or just simple rolling/NbG.
