It was fixed, there is a penalty for having a higher level player in a dungeon that wont give him any xp
It ain't fixed. I have a 70 twink that I have turned off the exp. Literally on the 11, 12 of Jan of this year. I was power leveling threw multiple dungeons. Now I am leveling another alt to get it to outlands and the exp is only 25 exp in RFC. I have even gone to using a 60 twink that I left, and is getting the same results in exp.
Dungeon experience was closely looked at in the past weeks because it wasn't accurate and hasn't been for a good while. This is likely a part of those updates.
A high level toon running you through a dungeon is supposed to incur a penalty to experience gain. That's how it's supposed to work and how it should be working anywhere else you play this game.
Wasn't there an instant level 70 service available throughout TBC phase WHILE the boosting was bugged? The service was simply updated for the current expansion.

It was working like it did on retail, the XP per mob were accurate and working normally. One mob in RFC when boosted by a level 80 gave roughly 50 xp per kill. With 5x xp rate that is 250 XP, which is what was given before the nerf. You can even replicate this on the current wotlk that blizzard is hosting.
If you locked your XP it would completely remove the penalty recieved on retail back in 2009. This is also how athene were able to power level a friend to world first to 79 before anyone were able to hit level 73.
So no it is infact a scummy move by warmane done to force people to level slowly so people are far more incentive tobuying boosts to get more money. It has NOTHING to do with fixing a bug or exploit as it was working just like it should.
And to follow up, i forgot to include this 50xp per mob is just in boosting in RFC at a low level, The XP per mob increases as the creature level increase, just like it did back in the day.
And yes boosting on a 70 compared to 80 gives a small bonus xp per mob.
The change they forced is that if you are "red" level above a player it forces xp to be 10 the same no matter what level it is, i tried this on a level '80 > 70 > 60 > 36 ' when boosting a level 8 character.
Another scummy example is how they gave mobs a far higher base movement speed by like 30% more so aoe leveling is much harder and makes it all together harder to level unless done very slowly. It's all in the effort so people give them money to boost instead of leveling. Forced difficulty to make people pay to get away from it.
So we double the xp from elites and nobody bats an eye, but god forbid we fix the exploit where people were staying 100y behind the booster?
No, i dont care about site boosts. This was a long overdue exploit fix

The xp per mob not that they have a 5x rate. what is 50xp multiplied by 5?
Back in 2008-2013 we had 3x xp rates with recruit a friend, plus you could then gift around half the levels gained back to the guy that boosted you iirc, making it like 4.5x.
Also the nerf to dungeon boosting xp didn't happen till 2022.
No you didnt fix anything, fixing something means it doesnt work as intended, this was completely authentic and working as intended. Reason why it's still applicable on the retail servers. Don't sugar coat it, say as it is, you dont want people to have easy and quick ways to hit max level.
Also Im massively impressed you're on the QA team if you want to tackle subjects like this, world credit max distance was actually 100 yards. Now in dungeons this was actually somewhere around 250 yards to get xp credit for a kill. Besides it isnt working on the server properly currently, if you arent within like 70 yards it would actually not give you credit for half of the kills.
Go ahead and stay in the 100-250 range on retail and see what happens. An exploit is an exploit, the fact that retail never bothered to fix this is their problem, not ours. I will have a look at the other issue you described.
Also, im not sugarcoating anything and never have in my 10+ years here, im just giving you an explanation.
