WotLK Do BGS scale on GS?

I just got a new weapon that put me just over 4.5k GS the next 3 BGS I qued into EVERYONE was 5.8-6.8k I just got farmed the whole time. which leads me to ask do BGS scale on GS. because if they do I can no longer do BGS for honor points I'll just get farmed and hate myself

BGs do not scale on GS, it has absolutely nothing to do with it, you can be fully green geared, que random bg and get paired up with wrathful geared characters, its just random...
its an old server and mostly everyone are bis geared...

they do scale on gear and it absolutely does have something to do with it. If you are fully green geared and que for a random bg, you will get paired with other green geared characters, it's just not random...
it's an old server and mostly everyone is bis geared, thats why warmane introduced gear brackets to bgs several years ago. there seem to be 3 different gear brackets, it is based on item level not gs, and it values some very strong items higher to prevent ppl from running shadowmourne + no hands/belt/neck or smth to get into the low brackets. one bracket is from naked to an approximation of 4.5-4.8k gs, the next one from there until something like 5.8k (this is where you start meeting blackrock starter gear ppl) and above that is only the highest bracket.

putting things into the bag/bank etc doesnt put you into a lower que, you would need to literally delete an item to get into a lower bracket

Even that does not help. There is no going back once you hit a higher bracket.

And hitting those is inevitable as it's not only based on ilvl but also on time. You'll eventually get placed in a higher bracket even if you don't upgrade your equipment.
