Does anyone know how does Battle Stance currently affect Armor Penetration rating on Warmane Icecrown?
Does the 10% armor penetration from Battle Stance mean:
1. Add 140 armor penetration rating, which will make you need only 1260 to cap it in PvE
or:
2. Additional 10% armor penetration reduction, similar to how Sunder Armor and Faerie Fire work?
I found this on the bugtracker, which was posted and dismissed 7 months ago.
From a small sample on level 80 training dummy, after casting 200 slams, and on top of that having around 80 auto attacks, the build that had 1258 armor penetration and used the rest as strength (142 strength total) did 200-300 more damage on average on both Slam and Melee (normal attacks and crits) than when using 1400 armor penetration from gear alone.
Anyone has any kind of additional information on this topic?

Your test is flawed. First, you shouldn't use auto attacks for the test, because their damage distribution is highly RNG-dependent due to damage range and glancings. Second, you shouldn't replace ArP gems with Strength gems, since Strength gives AP. Instead, replace them with something that doesn't affect damage at all, like Spirit, Spellpower, or maybe Expertise, when comparing the two conditions you mentioned.
