Check the deathwing and ragnaros forum section.
Ppl there are already complaining that lordaerons community isnt willing to spend a single penny for playing here.
Yes there are other ways to support the server but in the end its always money that is necessary to pay the server and staff.
With out donations the server doesnt exist so some ppl here should really change their anti donor attitude.
Hmm well it's a private server, so the overwhelming majority of people play here, because it's free. I mean ofcourse ppl don't just play here cos it's free, they migth play here cos they like the specific expansion or they have friends here, but let's be honest... donors are the minority. I can't fathom any donor moaning about others not wanting to donate. I mean it's not like the players of Lordaeron are saying "we won't donate". It's just the way the realm has been set up by the staff, so that it wouldn't be "pay to win".
I think offering lvl boosts might be a good idea to get more funds for Lordaeron.
Once again i can't comment on the financial status of Warmane. Why do you have reason to believe that it's not good btw?
At the end of the day i don't expect anything of the server really, i'm just thinking about the future and see 2 possible options. No cap with delay lag, or cap with massive queue.
Easily answered: the same reason I went to log on a couple of times on lordaeron :)
The quality difference is enormeous (I can't say anything about high levels, i am still low). Ofcourse, there are still plenty of bugs... I played the PTR for 2 minutes and reported 6 bugs already.... but hey! ALOT more things work on lordaeron than on DW/Rag atm :)
Ah so Lordaeron has just been developed more and has gotten ahead of DW/Rag and then ppl came here? Now i see, thanks. I ain't very knowledgeable about the history of this place, that's why i was wondering what Bioness meant.

Well... yes! Warmane took a fresh start, grabbed a new trinity core and started to heavily modify that one. Deathwing and Ragnaros are still running the core Molten-WoW used. 1 year ago that already was an outdated core as Trinitycore was almost on even level (some parts better, some worse).
The lordaeron core is all new, shiney and working way, way, waaayyy better. Also Rag&deathwing do not get fixes anymore untill the core is transferred. Last update was in july 2015, while the place was still Molten, WotLK did not get anything seriously fixed in 2 full years.
You can see that people would love to play this long awaited quality as soon as possible, but they do love to get back with their old friends or their trusted realms.
To return back to your original thoughts on this thread, I'm pretty sure Lordaeron population is not increasing. When the server started, there was 5k pop cap. They were increasing pop by 1k in the matter of days/weeks and approximately a month after release, there was a 9k cap. They were holding on to that for over 2 months, then increased to 10k.
Now we have situation where there were not willing to increase it further, but were forced, because there was a lot of negative comments on the forum about the queue. To be honest, since the increase to 11k, I personally didn't have any problems with the queue. Yes, there can be around 600 queue sometimes, maybe even more, but that's just peak hours of the week, and it's nothing surprising. The combined number of connected ppl and the ones in queue has been stationary, sitting on around 12k for more than few months now. Furthermore, even with 600 queue, it's 1 hour of waiting time the most, which is nothing strange for most complete private wotlk server. 11k population seems balanced as it should be and I don't see any reason to increase it more. Plus, as someone mentioned before, there will be a certain number of player loss when they merge rag with dw and apply lordaeron core.
From my understanding they waiting this long to increase the cap because they wanted to make sure the server would be stable. Should there be stability problems or a delay because of the server load, Warmane will likely look into various other solutions.
Also keep in mind that once the Lordaeron Core goes to Ragnaros and Deathwing, a good portion of people will go back there.
Nah they won't, unless those servers get a reset of some sort, i'd say over 95% are here due to progression system they chose to implement and harder raiding settings.
