This gives me encountered feelings, but as far one of the main is how stupid people can be here.
1- Stop talk of Lordaeron, point store WON'T be there.
2- Stop put Cata and MoP, in the middle of the discussion, this is WOTLK.
3- Pay attention to the part 'via points' of this sentence: "It will take a while to get these items. Approximately 1.5 to 2 years to fully gear up via points if you maintain your activity rank (TBA)"
4- This is a free to play server if you put money in your game is your problem, but personally I'm grateful if you did so many non-donors can still play. Doing threats or saying this server will die because of this little free-to-all implementation makes obvious that you are new (1-2 years max) on this server. Veterans will know this perfectly.
5- So I can put money, get free items, and raid/PVP without problems. But I spend time being active and get a higher ilvl item by points is totally against the rules. Stop whine and show your skill beating the donators. And being honest if they don't put items, very few could give money considering the state, and also speaking of WOTLK the best income for money has one word: Shadowmourne... and maybe also these few ones: instant full wrath gear.
6- "This will ruin the economy" If you think that is true, you haven't seen the 95% "BoE primos, recipes, Xitem reserved" runs that end usually in ninja attempts, or wiping miserably. Just to sell them later on for coins thanks to our nice coin market or the general one. There's no economy to rescue in Deathwing nor Ragnaros, is already -and probably- broken forever.
That is for the fun thing I've found around... Now what I find interesting is...
Ok point store no more mounts or pets (for a while?) That will be also applied to the coin shop? The 310% mounts are godly considering that the server scripts of hcs, Naxx and Ulduar are... bad, to be polite. Seems Tempest Keep will have a hard time or farm now oh but for sure "Mount reserved-ninjaed"
I agree with the unfair option of delete old gear either for twink or "transmorg" that is inaccessible. Being nax 40 the best example. If you are going to delete items, pets, and mounts, be sure that they -in the best scenario- are accessible in one way or another. But let's face it, time ago it was "2 years to end Eye of Eternity." Already been 6 years when I read that line and attention was sent to other expansions. Another point of unfairness is delete the recipes, you could have at least warned or gave us a tip "We will make recipes unavailable, so get some with the points we will reset as well." This gives me a worse expectation of how you all plan things.
But well not everything is gray. Personally I like the idea of using my points of activity in an item that will actually help my raiding though Lvl i271 is indeed high... I would suggest ilvl258 (icc10-togc25 for the less used to this kind of references) But again, did we have a chance to give our opinion? Not really considering that everything is planned already. And here I find the best way to cut bad raiders and skilless people; guilds. The gear doesn't mean you will have a decent amount of skill to play well considering the teamwork needed for certain places, as well every guild will probably kick any player that fails at tactics or does very low DPS. (A good example today was a BiS hunter PvE doing 13k DPS... instant kick, you get the idea...)
People should stop going into global raids with 10 to 20% of the items reserved and join a guild that suits their time-loot distribution, you will find yourself almost full geared in much less than 2 years of VOTE POINT USAGE, and learn to do a very good game there . Just this last thing wins my entire respect because now I can get an item just being active and put good use... After all, you will use it for your own fun-display, less drama, and more DPS! Keep calm and run to the tank.
Before I used the vote points to gear alts... seems it will be really hard considering the small amount every week and the price of the high Lvl items. But I wonder why not just put the items of HC 10 icc anyway? They're at -nearly- the same level than icc25 rs 25 normal versions, because if BoE items won't make the cut, a good change for the Blood Queen Choker for casters would be the necklace of DBS 10 HC. Now in a more selfish way: Shut up and take my vote points! I want that WFS HC! :D
