Oh I'm sorry, losing a lot of energy and severely limiting muscle growth (and a lot of other important body functions) must not be important at all. Especially for people who conduct serious physical activities. Gotta think outside the box!
Brb switching to tea diet so I can be master race.
im getting used to read to hear this....it happens a lot.....including IRL friends.....
I think Fiery is about to rage because no one is seeing the "what if" situation in her paragraphs.
Yes Fiery, it would become a hobby. I myself enjoy cooking...unless i'm being lazy. Do I think life would be more interesting without eating being a necessity of survival? Not really. K, my opinion is out there.
Speaking of...
Grym's gourmet dinner hosting guide:
Sit down, you'll be here a while.
Grym's Mohitos:
*1 60oz pitcher*
Grab a cup of sugar and one of distiller water. Combine that **** like Gordon Ramsey. Put on the stove and stir. Wait until it boils and then stir again, taking the pan off the stove. Add 9 ice cubes. Now forget about it.
Get a cup of lime juice and a cup of mint leaves. Be generous with the mint.
Pour together. Add 2 cups of soda water.
Now get 2 cups of Bacardi rum. Toss that **** out (jk it will suffice) but Tommy Bahamas is the best.
Mix it all together and pour in a glass, with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. Voila.
For an appetizer, buy/make some cheesy breadsticks. I do not yet have a recipe for them.
Grym's Shrimp Scampi:
Garlic
Olive oil
Broccoli
Linguini
Zinfandel White Wine
Shrimp
Onions
Grilled chicken <- CANNOT BE DRY
Cilantro
For those of you who like it, you can add sun-dried tomatoes. I personally don't.
*theoretical recipe, do not have amounts of ingredients or preparation instructions yet*
Dessert: A Nice Chocolate Mousse:
I have the recipe somewhere but can't find it. :| But it is the perfect dessert for such a meal.
K now you will throw best dinner party world. I will experiment on the unfinished recipes soon (I hope). Bonne chance et avoir du plaisir. :)
Your universe is rather uninteresting then.
That makes no sense. The scientific standpoint is the practical standpoint.
No, I meant that you don't need to imply that humans need physical, solid food and water to survive. It is way too obvious for pretty much anyone in this world :D
Still, food for thought.
~
As for DutchGrinder, think outside the box a little. If humans could survive without food, our bodies and muscles would be different from what they are currently, therefore we would not be physically frail and tired for not consuming food, don't you think?
~
Grymninja, I never rage :D. I actually enjoy these discussions.
I don't think you understand how evolution works. If we didn't need to acquire food to survive, we wouldn't evolve the traits that help us acquire food. These traits range from our exceptional brain to our ability to move. We'd be vegetables.
Hardly a discussion... It's irrational and another pointless excuse to try and bloat your ego.
There you go.
someone spoiled my new dream (which it was going to revive my dead thread).....damn it!....that notes wont go out from my notebook...nevarr!!
Then we would be frail and tired for not consuming some other form of mass and energy. We'll always need energy and mass to exist. Besides, our type of metabolism is probably the best for us. We've had millions of years to adapt to/create a better mass-consuming/energy generation system, because of the way evolution works. But we didn't. I don't think things like photosynthesis are possible for humans, because we use a LOT more energy than plants. Maybe something else could be possible, but that would alter us so much to the point of not being human anymore.
Sure it's interesting if humans could survive without food, it's just impossible. The ability to shoot lazorz of ultimate destruction with my fingers is also interesting, but that's impossible too (well, currently atleast).
But weren't we talking about diets?
Soroboru, it ~is~ irrational. After all, it was a discussion about humans that could survive without food.
As for stroking my ego, we all do it and I will not deny it. Some will boast about their lives, some will post arrogant and hateful comments, some talk endlessly about their physical prowess ~no offense towards legion :D~. I merely enjoy thinking about hypothetical situations when I can. Should a discussion arise on any subject that I find interesting, I will state my own opinions in a most harmless and un-intruding way. Thus far, I have never forced my views on anyone.
Anyhow, I fail to realize how this would bloat my ego. I was merely considering the ability to survive without food on air, or Solar energy, or prana or some other metaphysical essence or energy,
~
DamnOriginal, the point of my comment was not evolution.
Some DESIRE to stroke their ego, some DESIRE to stroke their phallic plot object. Different needs I guess.
That's not how evolution works. It doesn't upgrade species like an overenthusiastic gamer upgrades his gaming station by buying the best parts on the market. Evolution is adaptation not an upgrade system. It only cares about things that work, not things that are optimal.
Just because we've been doing very well for ourselves as a species doesn't mean that somehow we're the magnum opus of evolution and that no better alternative is possible. It simply means that we're adapted well enough.
Then what change are you talking about here?
