1. Didn't read the whole thread, but the city guards are obviously broken, and it's shameful that instead of fixing them properly (i.e getting near common city NPCs, guards have a chance to spawn - take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-HO...youtu.be&t=249 hundreds of guards spawning), you just did... this and killed city raids. It's properly reported on the bugtracker yet this was done because...? I don't know.

    Shame.

  3. I have to agree with the previous poster. The dmg of the city guards is really broken. They never hit that hard on retail.

    The only real effect this nonsensical, custom tweak has is discouraging small scale PvP in cities, which is just unfortunate considering that's the kind of PvP a lot of PvP-ers enjoy and a lot of non-participants enjoy seeing, as opposed to a gigantic ball of nameplates consuming every NPC and PvP-tagged player alike, like some sort of dysfunctional katamari.

    I don't know what kind of misguided logic led to the fruition of this anomaly but so far it has done nothing but alienate good PvPers and make 2-button spamming mongoloid herds feel right at home.

    insane that warmane on purpose breaks world/city pvp.
    those BiS geared people you want to counter a little can handle the guards still, while the average lowbie gets raped. it kills the fun of having some 70 twinks etc. in the for the alliance raid aswell. (both small and big city pvp are hindered by it).
    if you want to counter people lilling auction house for example just make them non-combat. I can not see the logi about breaking this ****.

    Why does it matter to you what moderators have to say about it? Whether or not the mentioned issue is intended by the developers is not a judgement call the moderators can make. The best we can do on any such subject is to deliver the message (reasoning, etc.) from the development team. You can fire jabs at the moderators, or even gather together your torches and pitchforks, and go after them, but that won't help you any at all since the moderators have no say in development. Don't be silly.

    I'd give my opinion as well, if it weren't irrelevant.

  8. OK let me see if i get it straight, from OP to some replies and my opinion aswell.

    The OP is fine with the tweaked damage but he states that CC immunity is not PvP oriented (PS: thats why he keeps sending you to farm fos. because these mobs are not pve mobs, are pvp mobs)
    CC is an important part of a group capability of PvP even in an invasion.
    Maybe disable mind control, make the elites able to resist controlling.
    either way, i share OP's PoV of this matter. PvP mobs (they defend, they wont defend from a pve guy lets get this thru our heads. People invading cities, WORLD PVP, is PvP not PvE) should be able to be "handled" as player characters. Of course not the faction leaders, but the minor guards, some of the elites.

    Anyway, the guard tweak is terrible. Never should have been implemented. I remember when cross-faction whispers and mailing were removed because it wasn't retail like. Couple years later they JK us and make guards godlike (without any warning - I found out by being killed by 4 guards hitting me for 5k each on rogue). However, still not nearly as annoying as being crit for 35k from a hunter on a demo in sota for the past 4 years (when they work fine in ioc).

    Well, i dont think that devs deleted bugtracker report of this bug, cuz its status was - "confirmed".

So for now i dont know what to do without your help, since only staff can help in this case - to make detailed bugtracker post with proofpicks fro OP-post and w8 for it to be deleted again, or w8ing for ur statement - that you made this mobs like this - to be immune to contror, to do some damage, which is insane for 75lvl NPC. I dont want to start forum war about such kind of things, because this is not bug, as one of mods stated (but now denies it). It's all yours now - either you can help us - bring devs, who made this tweak, let them tell us was this intended or random bug ( if bug - why bugtracker post disappeared) or u can delete this thread, ban me and pretend that nothing happened, like in a good ol' times

    First - if someone reached level cap and is ungeared, its not my problems, but his. so if he except to not being constantly killed in bg (another story, u should just join any 3.3.5 bg to see it, bunch of ungeared fresh 80s even without blue crafted pvp gear), in city (if he doesnt want to be killed in capitals he can just toogle pvp off), or just outside in open world (well he took the risks to play on PVP server molten (warmane =D))

    Moderators haven't had privileges in the bug-tracker since the first bug-tracker, which has been gone for about 3 years now. I don't know about any reports having been deleted either, but if it hasn't already been reported in the new bug-tracker, please go ahead and do so.

    despite your efforts, ane of aspects of world pvp is dead now. Dont even try to blame me for ungratefulness, since im playing here almost from a begining, and i saw everything - how server was bugged as hell at start, was fixed, became most popular WOTLK server world-wide, almost died from some faggits this winter (nevar forget lel). So im really happy from taking participation in all of those things.
    You, know that PvP is complex aspect of WoW and is important as much as PvE, u cant simply remove one thing from the complex and excpect it to be fine.

    It is also a remnant of the old development team. I figure there is at least some decent chance that it would be reconsidered.

  14. That "our gear average is higher so the guards got boosted" argument is the worst argument I have ever seen. Who ever came up with that idea had a brain fart. It even makes some achievements incredibly hard (bloodsail/insane) and does literally nothing to world pvp besides being incredibly annoying. If someone wants to gank your lowbie *** for killing him, he WILL bother sitting outside town till you leave. But it did a great job at ruining city ganking and small group city PVP. If you wanna enter SW for pvp, you either gotta be a druid/rogue squad or come with a raid, so yea who ever came up with this idea deserves a medal.

    Guards have been useless since TBC, they are supposed to be annoying, but they aren't supposed to be a 1shot execution team.
