Why do 80levels kill low levels

i never said a 80 doesn't get pissed off, but from my own experience back when cross faction whisper was a thing, low levels sent far more hate mail than lvl 80s ever did. maybe it was different for some, but that was my experience with it.

and i don't need an excuse, i kill lowbies because i like it, and i could care less what anyone thinks about it, or what they call me for it, at the end of the day if they ***** and moan about it and call me names for it, i've achieved my goal and will start over the next day.

I find this question far more interesting, to be honest.

And the answer to it, as well as to OP's question, is, as mentioned right back on page 1, raising ego. But, of course, people are now going to start coming and talk about fun, revenge etc.

Fun: you're having fun by killing other players, enjoying how they try to run or fight back, even though there's very little they can do. By doing this, you feel more powerful and that's the "fun" part. Ego.

Revenge: that would be killing the same players that ganked you during leveling. Instead, you're killing other low-level players because you felt hurt by ganking when you were low-lvl and now you want to lash out. Ego.

"That's just how PvP works": this one's just plain wrong, no need to even explain it. Hunting low-level players is NOT how PvP works, it's NOT normal and you're deliberately making the choice of doing it. It has nothing to do with warring factions or whatever - you just do it "because you can". Ego.

So yeah, OP, you can start reading psychology stuff about ego and Internet bullying in particular - it's going to answer a lot of questions. After you do that, you won't feel angry about gankers anymore - you'll feel sad for them and just learn to ignore them, as paying attention to them only further feeds their ego, as you can probably see by now by some of the replies in this thread.

To me what is more troubling is that people I've seen around these forums for years have remained pretty much in the same stagnating position when it comes to ganking. It just shows an inability to grow out of it and makes you wonder for just a split second how old & mature these people are. But then again, that's none of your business and this is just a forum for just a game and you can just ignore them and let them live in their own plane of oblivion and "lol because I can, rekt nub QQ more, go post on the forums kid, your tears feed me". Ego.

If you get corpse camped, it's kinda crappy, but you can always take a break to do something else. Nobody is gonna be sitting there waiting for you to come back 10, 15, 20 minutes later. Everybody has to do things in life besides play WoW right? So go excercise, eat, clean, play a different game, keep playing WoW on a different character, who cares.

Honestly, I will try to kill anyone of opposite faction I come across, so why would I be surprised that they do the same to me? If I see a higher level char I immediately assume he will kill me and attempt to run/hide ASAP. Ultimately, if you get totally worked up about getting ganked and having to take a break for 15 minutes, the problem is with you in your head and not with the person who ganked you.

EDIT: also, logging on to a char to spam whispers at the person who ganked you is like the most retarred thing you can do. You're not humiliating or shaming them, you're humiliating yourself by showing how worked up you get and also wasting your time doing something pointless. The person who ganked you doesn't care about your opinion, if anything your tears probably fuel him.
