hello everyone. I have been playing Warrior since TBC and i want to try something new . Elemental Shaman cought my eye, i think it's kinda fun class to play,but i don't know anything about it, so i need some help. Is it so fun as it seems , and why? What's your opinio. Secondly, how is it doing in 4.3.4, is it good in PVP and what about PvE, and compared to other classes and compared to Ench Shaman.

Hi, well elemental shamans are quite "bad"(in a way) in pvp but that doesn't mean they can't be good, any class can be good but why are they "bad"? Well lets see they can barely pressure healers(a good healer), they barely have any defensive ability's other then a few i.e. Stone Claw Absorb. On the plus side they have very good healing and burst when free casting. In the end just play what you want and have fun if your good at your class you'll pwn anyone :D(sorry didn't have much time to type)

Do you think i can get to some high arena ratings with Ele shaman? Cuz i saw they are one of the good classes in 4.3.4

In 2s, it can be hard but in 3s should be easy really, play ele+lock+hpala or ele+firemage+disc both work well really.

Ele shamans was heavily dependant on gear if you compare with other classes in Cataclysm. They are still in MoP (I'm a retail ele shammy).
If you are a person who indulges in your class, know how to keybind (honestly clicking will get you murdered in pvp) and macro correctly and wanna push for a 3v3 career. Then go for it.
Otherwise I'd advise you to go resto shaman, fun, can kill tho it takes long and survives most :)

Yup any class can get high arena rating (ele shaman wise yes of course!) I've gotten to 2800 in 2's and 2600 in 3's and i feel as if i could of went even higher. (Using the teams mentioned in this post. :D)

I like ele sham more in pve cause of interesting things it brings to party, but in pvp I allwayes prefered resto. Resto is imba in cata tbh. You will find it very dificult to play ele in arena if people go for you to knock you down especialy mele. I like elemental in bgs where you can pushback people off the cliffs and mass chain lightning them now with the chain light modification :P I just cant stop loving that, no cd pew pew

as some1 tould before me ele shamy's need best gear to do damage / burst / heal.
ele shamy are hard to play for players that dont know how to kitty melee.
ele shamy are a support class and can play good with other dps (perfect with locks / balance druid / fire-frost mages)
in pvp are the best to counter casters/healers.
after you learn how to make presure / use windshear 5sec cd :) / stack shield for burst you will not have problems.

Although elemental shamans are nothing to gawk over in pvp, I find it odd that no one was mentioned our new 4set Gladiator bonus?
We GAIN a stack of lightning shield every time we are attacked instead of losing one. In addition to the fact that elemental have one of the best burst in cataclysm, we can do a fair amount of damage once our teams cc's are lined up. I have personally hit for 49k fulminations in arena vs 3.5k resil during elemental mastery, just to have another fulmination back in about 12 seconds.
As for pve, Elemental has AMAZING aoe now with the new changes. On a pack of 6+ mobs, I can hit 45k dps easily in between earthquake/fulmination/chain lightning spam. Single target ele is slightly below enhance in perfect conditions unless elemental has the legendary weapon.
