gear and leveling

hi there, im kinda new to the game i made the account like 2 years ago but havent played much..
im a level 24 dranei shaman and im currently on bloodmyst island.
i dont have good gear and i would love to know where or how can i get some, same about weapons.

p.s

is there any guide or way to level up fast in this server??
and i cant find some basic gameplay guides so i would love to recive some..

You basically don't need the best gear for leveling. You can manage unless you're not running around in a loincloth. Check map what area fits your level, go there to the next outpost / city. Try to complete quests that reward gear and take that piece that is more green then red. Preferably stats that you need.
Then there is also the possibility to get better gear in dungeons but 1) Most are closed and 2) You need a group.
The actual gearing comes when you hit level 85 cata or 80 wotlk.
