hey,im new in wow and i want to create shaman,idk its better to choose ele or ench?and can u link gear from point shop for my shaman when i level up to 80?

Enha is best for leveling.

At 80 raids ele provides more usefull buffs and more dps, but it still falls behind many others. Resto is the most usefull one. (you can still play all specs, but its easiest to get raid spot as resto > ele >>> enha)

Elemental
- Unique raid buff (totem of wrath) that every good raid should have.
- Easy to play
- Boring rotation
- Mediocre DPS

Enhancement
- All buffs can be provided by other classes so there is no demand for them
- Quite a lot of people think it does terrible DPS so you may be ignored when trying to get into a raid
- Much more complex rotation compared to elemental
- Therefore much more fun to play
- Better DPS than Elemental but still un-comparable to rets/mages/hunters/dks
- Wolves are bugged :(
- Mana management can be an issue at lower gear levels

just go with ele, its very easy to play and very fun
enh is a lot more complicated and you'll need addons and tons of reading to play it well

If you love complexity go for enhancement. You will be half melee half caster worrying about spell hit an attack power ( lol?) and also match up a fire shock wile not using lava burst because an 8 yard AoE totem ( magma totem) is your top damage skill paired with your top mana drain skill (fire nova).

If you manage to master this and a couple of others thing youll be fine. What I'm still trying to understand is why lava lash is the worst and lowest skill. Blizzard just trashed really bad enhanced shaman in Wotlk but it seems fixed in Cata.

Better pick Ele.
As Ele you provide unique buffs to the raid and will most likely be very welcomed in guilds and raids.

As Enh all your buffs are provided by other classes.
You will reach a point after a very long time that you cant go any further as Enh MS, that's what happened to me after 2 years, sure, I could join a good guild, not the best guild on the server but I could do icc 25hc, and I was picked last only if there's no another "pro" pala. That made me feel "unwelcome" and unnecessary, which is actually true.

My favorite class and spec is Enh shaman for sure, but in order to play it you must play with an other MS and gear your Enh as OS until your nearly BiS if you plan to play with it at end game. I learned it the hard way :(.

Dps wise it doesn't matter as both specs dps doesn't compare to pala / mage and other classes, but it doesn't mean you can't top damage done (in some fights), and that you don't help the raid.

Anyway, be an Ele shaman and if you wish to play Enh do this after you are an amazing Ele and you are in an awesome guild ;).
