VP for gold worth it?

Hey, I just started playing on this server these past couple of days and was wondering if its worth it to spend my voting points on the 150k gold? Only reason I ask this is because I currently have no gold and for m first max level I would like to have some gold on him, but if its not worth it and I should just buy the gear with my voting points ill do that. Anyways any and all information is appreciated thank you!

You can not buy gold for vote points. You can only buy gold for coins, which you get for donating.

Not true at all, I've sold vote points many times before for gold. The darkmoon rep requires a lot of decks which you can get via vote points.
