In the latest update, one of the things we got is "Quest Objective system has been rewritten, progression on most character quests will be reset."
What does this truly mean and how/what will it affect?

it did noting good, many quests that worked before now got bugged

If they rewrote the system, that means they probably want to do fixes and add features that the old code wasn't allowing. If the code is old and ****ty, it can be difficult to work with, or even prevent certain types of things from being scripted.

If youre gonna release a new code that is gonna break more thing than its gonna fix, but it would be useful in the future, you create a new development branch and dont push that code to live. With the amount of required work to go in higher priority fixes like class bugs, instances, bgs and arenas when do you think the newly broken quests will see some attention?
First off, the issue causing some daily, weekly and monthly quests such as Blingtron 4000 to not complete has been corrected and hotfixed.
The new quest objective system has a myriad of internal changes which makes quest related development easier, quicker and more blizzlike. I won't go into too much technical detail but I'll give a very quick rundown.
The most important change is it allows quests with more than 4 objectives to be implemented.
The first example of this that comes to mind is quest Beasts of Fable which has 10 objectives, the old system would of only showed and required the player to complete the first 4.
All quest objective types are now handled, the main advantage to this is to allow more unique quest types such as Battle Pet related quests, complex MoP quests and older hack fixed quests to be implemented in a blizzlike fashion.
This change will also correct a few visual bugs such as the one where some objectives (such as item collection) wouldn't update the counter correctly in the quest window.
The bottom line is the code that was used for quests was pretty much the same as it was in WotLK; as the game advances and gets more complicated internally our systems need to be updated to reflect that.
That was the case. During the development caution was taken in order to try not break too many things, the problem is we can't test every quest before releasing a system like this, it just wouldn't be viable.
no before bugged everyone can get a present, now only me can get it.
The Heavy Junkbox turn in quest which is the only way to get from revered to exalted with Ravenholdt is now also bugged which means you can't get "the Insane" title anymore.
I had a problem with this reset, i got stuck in 2 chain quest that lead to begin farmin rep with 2 different factions, now i can't get te next quest i needed to continue. Should i open a ticket for this or what should i do?
Please fix this, I wasted a lot of boxes trying to get this going
