1. cant login after trying to fix chat bug

So i deleted cache and WTF folder to try and fix a chat bug i was having in game (chat randomly wouldnt work in any channel except /say and /w). After restarting WoW it's now telling me I have to convert my account into a bnet account. This would usually only happen when my internet dropped (which obviously hasnt happened this time as I can still post and browse the forum) and would go back to normal when my internet was back up and running normally. Been playing for a few months now and this is the first big issue iv come across, but i cant play at all now...

So I've somehow gone from irritating ingame chat bug to not being able to login.

ps. i havnt installed any new software and I know im virus free.

  2. So i managed to fix my game (no thanks to anyone here) and then found out that linking of anything in chat has been disabled. While i understand the reasons for this it is a detriment to the community on a whole.

A better solution to the kids spamming thunderfury would have been to mute them, not take away a vital part of chat for the entire community. We cannot share our proffs with anyone, we cannot share our quests with anyone to ask for help, we cannot share the gear we want to buy and ask if it is worth it. This was a hasty decision and one that should be changed so that we can continue playing normally while keeping the spammers at bay (mute is a wonderful tool).

  3. Your issue would be that by deleting your wtf folder you also deleted your realmlist you'd fix the issue by simply changeing the realmlist to:
    set realmlist logon.warmane.com

as for the linking yeah it's a annoying thing that really should be solved in some other way.
