Question about faction change and items

I've heard some some clashing things about changing one's faction and how the "this race only"-items will behave. If I were to change from Alliance to Horde, will all my pvp-gear transfer from "draenei, dwarf, gnome... only" to Horde ones or will they stay unusable? Because I have heard both. Your gear should simply change to the horde version of PvP gear.

The gear changes to the other faction version, but you have to put your pvp trinkets back on your spell bar (as technically its a different trinket after you switch).
