while that would certainly help make the arenas alotless crapfilled. what arena rate would you want them to use to unlock soloq? because sadly neither are good options atm.
2s is a poor judge of a players ability to play 3s even if it is only yoloq 3s. and 3s would be a great requirement...but its the most inactive of the brackets.
so in one corner they add the requirement and it has almost no effect (there would be a slight bonus and if the requirement was like 1700 2s you might get ppl who arnt completely new to there class, but at the same time. they only earned that exp in 2s which isnt even close to being comparable to the 3v3 dynamic. so its helpfulness would be negated almost instantly.) and in the other corner if you pick the most inactive of the brackets and that instantly auto kills soloq (slight chance of making 3v3 more active, but because most of the people who play soloq play it because they couldnt do real 3s. its unlikely they'd want to have there ego's so viciously shattered. so they'd just do 2s or quit all together).
Soloq as a base concept was really good, the idea of being able to Q into say 3v3 or even 2v2 solo or with a group was a good idea. the problem came when they made it into a seprate bracket.
had they just added solo and duo q options for real 3s (and or add a soloq option for 2s). plus a very good preference system (so you can set what kind of classes/specs your willing to play with) it would of made arena alot more accessable to the new pvpers because now they can find groups without having to have exp.
ofc the downside too that is the amount of effort it could take to make it work. if it was even possible to make said preference system (which tbh would be required to make the soloq system work in 2v2 or 3v3).
all in all you just gotta take soloq for what it is, which is a very rng based bracket with a heavy class/comp bias. (dont believe me about the bias?, check the top ppl in soloq, most of em are either. healers, warriors, dk's hunters, shaman or warlocks. with soloq being open to more comps this bias will be semi lifted a lil bit with duo q, but in terms of the old method the bias was very very heavy.) if you cant accept that and enjoy it for what it is. then you may have to stop playing soloq because its not going to help to complain about something everyone has always complained about since its release.
1650 rating from 2s/3s would be just fine requirement.. anyone can get that rating, but atleast you know when you enter that the ppl u play with actually did any sort of arena in AT.. i know noobs will be all over the place no matter what, but atleast people who play pvp for the first time wont que which is good enough for me..

it'll help block about 5% of the bad players. because most of the people who que up soloq are fully able to reach 1700 2s (as you can do with just rng at this point) its just that 2s isnt very skill based compared to 3s and because of this even if the guys 2k 2s. he can still just get rekt in soloq. so while its not a bad concept it would largely do nothing but make ppl think somethings happening.
also as i already said, most of the problems with soloq atm, is its not really soloq. Its DuoQ, if you arnt playing with someone else you are appernetly intended to get rekt by the rng. you also have to play certain spec's to be able to do it at all, let alone in DuoQ.
(mind you this is based off of when it was MCH)
Good example of this is, play an ele sham and you can easily get to 2500 playing with a warrior. play a warrior and you can easily get to 2500 with a ele sham or even an aff lock. but play say frost mage, at this point if you arnt Duo Qing you'll end up never getting past 1600 without a **** load of rng. (either you fight really bad comps/teams or you get really good teams/comps).
and thats the main problem with it, now obv now they have removed the mch thing. but it only opens up a few classes up now for Duoq and its still only viable as DuoQ, not as soloq. and most ppl want to be able to play it soloq without having to carry random crap rets and such on my mage or warlock.
what id like is a way to block certain spec's from teaming up with me xd
