1. I used an authenticator, I still got banned.

How on earth did I still recieve a ban from some guy logging into my account from the same IP address in the US that got my account banned previously. I used an ACTUAL authenticator , an email one, and my password is different from the gmail address I had used previously , I made a NEW GMAIL ACCOUNT. Still somehow when I logged in my gmail I had only 2 authentication and none-relating to the browser location of this guy from the US. So what i had was the first authentication, then the second when I logged into the site with the VPN. Yet there was no THIRD one, from someone logging into my account from the US. Please someone explain this fustrating thing because I can't appear to appeal it as there is no option.

Is it possible that because I'm using Cyberghost 5 ( a VPN ) that i got banned? I

  2. This time it isn't my fault that the authenticator didn't pick up on the guy who logged in as a US citizen. I hold no responsibility when my security is dependant on an authenticator made by the damn site developers

  3. I have no idea why are you blaming the authenticatior (which was made by Google).

  4. okay but why did it get banned in the first place? Did I use a VPN, is that why the system mistook me for someone else who was doing something which violated the terms of service?

I want my account back because i did nothing apart from using a VPN, then somehow i got banned for advertising coincidentally using the same VPN that got my previous account banned which was said to have been last seen from the same IP address which I assume caused my account to be banned. Looking further into the location of that IP address (which presumably hacked my account ) it made little sense as it showed that the IP was from Amazon. and running on a cooperate internet speed

  5. 2 step authentication only protects your websites account. Not ingame account or forum account. According to a post by Edifice here everything can be restored if an account gets compromised because of lack of authentication that protects ingame account but he did not answer what happens if the account gets banned.

You have to make ban appeal using support system on website.

It is also possible that the ban was given to multiple accounts using the same IP and your account was not compromised. Instead someone else using that VPN might have broken rules and you could be banned with him. If you log in but don't select realm then last login on website shows logon servers IP, which is in US.

Email authentication has nothing to do with Google.

  6. okay thx anyone0 ( someone that's not a staff ) your information was more helpful than the one given by the Mr QA analyst over here . I will now not use a VPN for any sake on this private and if i do I will log off and use it elsewhere.

The "shows logon servers IP" greatly improved my understanding of the situation as I had thought my account got compromised. Thank you again for clearing up my misunderstanding , I greatly appreciate your time for writing such a paragraph. It was so useful that it just angers me that it took a member of the community to tell me what was going on. Thanks again.

  7. On a side note, I highly recommend avoiding any free VPN that is heavily used by people who are breaking rules.
