Toon/character disappeared

Ive logged in today and saw that my first created toon called Sasuke was literally gone and someone else took the name. I wanted to save the name for my death knight later. It was fine yesterday and today he was literally gone

Did this toon got deleted somehow? Else i dont understand what could happened, because all my other toons are still there

Only two possible explanations for this scenario:
1. You, for whatever reason, deleted your character and can't remember doing it.
2. Someone knows your account and did it themselves

2. Might be possible (but i doubt it greatly) - any ways to check what IPs got into my account ingame or can only GM do that?

Lets assume the worst case, someone did it and logged into my account due a hack - can the IP be banned or any other actions taken? But to be honest, why would someone hack my account only to delete a toon instead of deleting everything or sending items away?

Before you log ingame log on the site and you will see last logged zone. Thats what I do.

Just saying... most of the times, it's people you know.

I think someone from staff said that they will delete all characters that are below 10(?) lvl every few weeks.

You're talking about accounts cleanup, these will happen for a fact, but the accounts have to be inactive, as in - level 1 charachter, never played on, never accessed. Those types of characters you only create to reserve the name, but never login on them.

I can't imagine a staff member deleting an account in use.

there was only one case where staffers took away names it was with the guild "is a cookie" where some guy took the guild make like a hatefull motd in it and then use like i dont remember i think it was 2 accounts to take names of ppl in that guild.


then there were cases when ppl created chars shortly after it went onlne the first time when ppl created names it happened that there were duplicates created. and the duplicates have been deleted.

if none of those 2 cases do fit then someone deleted it or you did it in a drunken stupor and forgot about it ^^

Correct, but they haven't started yet. It will be announced with plenty of time to bump your characters up.

Neither can I, so you might want to change your account info to prevent this from happening again.

Also, on the My Account page, you can create a ticket describing your issue and a staff member will reply.

This might be it, but why they should only delete 1 toon instead my other one too (called Magikarp, also level 1)?

Probably someone came with proof that he/she usually uses that name. In that case the character involved will be either deleted or flagged for rename.

False, as names are not something you can own.

I am pretty sure I have read that somewhere... But not in simple cases, just when it is a well known name.
Or was it only applying to guilds? Is a Cookie for example?

Nevertheless someone probably entered my account against my will from outside to delete a toon and get the name for it (likely a hacker - because its 100% not from my surroundings), so will there be any actions taken if i report this?

If not then i dont care anymore and the hacker can have his fun with the name
