1. Lordaeron code on wotlk realms

How long before we see the code from Lordaeron being pushed to the other wotlk realms? So many quests are bugged at the moment in Icecrown and other zones, it would be a great sign of faith to see this code go live sooner rather than later... but I understand if there are reasons this will take a long time if you're not ready for endgame on Lordaeron (although the dev updates suggest you're very very close to being ready).

  2. Raids needs to be polished to ensure quality and prevent exploiting before the other realms are updated. They are likely to be ready before they are launched in Lordaeron, so you will not necessarily need to wait until Lordaeron is fully updated to play the new core.
Perhaps one of the WotLK realms can even be used to test the last raid(s) before they go live to Lordaeron, and receive the update earlier, who knows.

  3. This would be good for a couple of reasons. The sooner code gets put on Ragnaros the sooner heavy donors like myself can feel that we are supporting a large scale change that will benefit our experience and that we're being respected for our financial support of these servers. Let's face it, I only care about whether my cash will benefit ME... seems selfish but everyone who spends money wants to feel they are getting increased VALUE. Broken quests and endgame feels like we aren't getting the attention we deserve lately. (no updates since June) Not a complaint. Just trying to help you guys see my perspective and I hope you don't ignore it.

I personally don't have time to level a low level character and leave behind my stable of BIS characters I've donated for, so I won't be rolling on Lordaeron.

A huge part of the good experience on Warmane for me has been the increased rep rates and gold drop increase. It just seems more fun to me.

We have a thriving community that is engaged and ready for new content like Malygos and Ulduar fixes so guilds can do the Yogg+0 encounter and get achievements like Firefighter and other notable achieves. The second main reason we should see code ported to Ragnaros etc is to help and be a part of the Lordaeron experience without actually having to feel forced into rolling on that realm. Some of us feel kind of left out... but you know I do submit a lot of bugs to the bugtracker but it's probable that the bugs I've submitted are already fixed in the new core, so it's not a good idea to maintain two code bases -- it's unpractical. I feel like all my bug tracker submissions have gone completely unnoticed... and there are many.
    Code:

Working on two code bases isn't logistically practical and it's detrimental to the overall player experience; let's get all the realms on the same base and update them at the same time with all the wotlk players and not just a select few who have enough time to spend doing 1x and no-donations.

  4. how much you donate doesn't make you any more important than anyone else, whether you donate 10k or nothing.

they also are only taking bug reports for lord, since it's the core they'll be going forward with. you'll just have to sit around and wait if you can't be bothered leveling on lord. wotlk has survived here for over 4 years without this core, a few more months won't kill it.

What about a system where you could use coins to directly pay developer time? (Developer time, not fixes, since they are not the same)

  6. From what I know and understand, many fixes are based on the new core, for which content isn't yet completed. The new core is closer to the newer ones used for Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria and couldn't be just "pushed" onto the current core for Wrath of the Lich King. "Pushing the code" to other Wrath of the Lich King servers now would then mean giving them the core, and only the content that Lordaeron has. Are people unanimously up to losing for a few months all end game and not-so-end game content that doesn't exists in Lordaeron yet? I doubt it, and how much the people who would be up for it donated is a non-issue.

  7. You probably just downloaded the last version of Trinity for the new Lordaeron core, put your fixes on it, and then disabled the Outlands and Northrend. Just reenable those areas, since I don't think things are much worse in current Trinity than they are in Deathwing/Ragnaros as of now.

  8. You probably should reconsider stating that months of development work have been "download the last Trinity and add fixes."
I'm not known for being tolerant with disrespect, direct or indirect.

I said you put your fixes on it, whether that took months or days was not mentioned or relevant to my response.

I like where you're going with this. I'd like to direct the use of the funds I donate, so I could put emphasis from my donations on wotlk development and not other builds.

I agree. The amount of effort done by developers so far needs to be applauded, absolutely. From what I understand Lordaeron is a complete rewrite stand alone core that is far superior to Trinity. I'm anxious to try it on Ragnaros! :)

But don't rush guys. We can wait for it to be right. It would however be nice to be given a heads up on what the official plan is and what the expected timeline is for other wotlk realms to reap some benefits from all this awesome hard work.

  11. You would probably need a Developer to give you more detailed info than the understanding I got from what they and QAs have said, especially as far as timeline predictions go. But as I said, unless we're getting the picture pretty wrong, these fixes depend on the new core, and the other Wrath of the Lich King servers getting it depends on the content being finished to avoid crippling what's available currently. We understand that it's annoying to see a new server getting fixes you want, but I really don't see the update being held back on the other Wrath of the Lich King servers any more than strictly needed to avoid introducing working features and older content, but having to shut down Burning Crusade and up content.

This is a good explanation. My understanding was wrong then because I was under the impression that TBC & WotlK was finished and being switched off only as a hardcore feature of Lordaeron. However since these expansions are coming pretty soon in a relative developer cycle, if we were to see them tested on other WotLK realms before they were released on Lordaeron they would be coming in under three months, if I'm not mistaken. But from your analysis it seems they will be coming upwards of six months to a year from now.

Meanwhile for those of us who are completely bugged on the Loremaster achievement, would it be at all feasible to request zone quest resets? I accidentally messed up Icecrown and even after a faction change I'm stuck and cannot complete more than 64 quests or so. :(

My understanding of this bug is that it is all in the order you do the quests. By unlocking Shadow Vault early to get my enchant, I inadvertently shut myself out of finishing that zone. I'm done loremaster for all vanilla and TBC, and I even managed to complete Storm Peaks (which is really hard) but Icecrown is not possible until either I get GM help or I wait for the quest fixes to push from Lordaeron.

Curious on your thoughts on how to complete Loremaster in my precarious position atm.
