I just decided to try this realm out as I was playing a vanilla private server for the past few months and it became too dull.
I have been playing wow since its release and have come to this realm with the hopes to play the best expansion of wow. I gave retail a shot and for some reason it doesnt even seem like its the same game anymore. Long story short, I am here to stay as long as everything goes smoothly.
I rolled an orc shaman named Shamrocks and I am looking for a general outline of the server as far as what classes are needed. In retail WOTLK I played a boomkin and a hunter. I never really made it past TOC until things IRL took over. I'm looking for tips about this realm (never been part of a donation=items realm).
1. Are any classes in need? I have played pretty much every class and I am looking for an efficient leveling class that can contribute endgame.
2. Will me only donating in the beginning be sufficient? I dont plan on continuing to pay for items past the 1st donation but I would like to show the developers some love.
3. How is the realm currently running? (I transferred from Kronos which was scripted very well (IMO)...for Vanilla
4. Any misc. tips would be greatly appreciated!
1. Any Tank/Healer, you can see a rough estimate of class distribution here: http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....=1#post2570001
2. You don't have to donate ever. Every single piece of gear is obtainable in-game. Not sure about cosmetic/mounts, some of them may only be obtainable via donation (TCG items)
3. Better than the server you mentioned.
4. Have fun.
I honestly forget where classes stand in WOTLK with nerfs. Is there a thread anyone can point me to for a recommended class? I will most likely stick with shaman but I want to know the pros/cons of other classes before I dive into a character.
I remember a lot of complaining about warrior. I also remember my huntard becoming the most boring thing ever in northrend.
It's better to keep your shaman. Go as enhancement while you level, you will love it. At 80 you can respec to resto because idk if raids will take enh dps. As for ele, I never tried it for too long because I don't enjoy it. It's more of an AoE dps, but with less efficiency than a mage e.g.
