Just wanting to check before I go and do it myself, people have been doing loot quests all over outland and when complete they abandon the quest while the quest item is still in your bag. This together with the "normal" way of saving 25 complete quests in your quest log people have from 60 to 100 "completed" quets just waiting for turn in when wotlk hits, this will basically boost them all the way to 71 in a matter of minutes without even entering Northrend.
So, if this is okay can we have an official confirm that we won't be banned/rollbacked for using this "exploit".
You mean completing quests and saving them to turn in when the exp gaining is unlocked?
25 Quests won't get you from 70 to "81". I dont even think they'll get you 2 levels on a x1 realm.
I did this myself with some quests when Outland opened and was @ 25% when got through the Dark Portal.

Don't think its exploit/illegal.
What he is saying is just a bit more than this. In addition to the 25 completed, you also do some gather quests, pick up the quest item from mobs until you have enough and then abandon it.
So when WotLK hits, you turn in your 25 completed quests and then pick up/turn in however many gather quests you already "completed" by having the items in your inventory.
I would think that most quests should force you to delete any gathered items when you try to abandon them, but I guess that's not always true.
In either case, I doubt this would be bannable, but I'm not sure.
Pretty much everyone did it between Vanlia and TBC transition afaik..
While that may be turn, it would be a bit harder to pull off during retail as quest items are suppose to be destroyed if you abandon a quest. I'm not arguing for or against it, if people want to go the extra mile to get that boost, more power to them. At least for me, quest items not being destroyed has saved me a bit of time on bugged quests that required redoing.

I had 25 dung quests completed before TBC hit and I got like 1 level and like 30%, so idk what kind of quests you have done but yeah, also on topic saving up 25 quests for turn in is allowed, everyone and their grandmas do that on retail so idk why this should be bannable, completing more then 25 is a diff thing, because quest items should dissapear after abandoning a quest, I guess you should heck witha GM, but I also remember a dude on the TBC release stream that was on RC with Malaco saying that he had like 40 completed quests to turn in.
if you dont want to wait for a reply from a GM you may want to do some research and see if some of the quest item drops even without the quest. for example there is a quest in westfall to collect 8 goretusk liver, you can just buy those livers from the AH or mail them from an alt, so you can try "completing" those kind of quests

I'm sure people are aware of those ingredient quests, however most collection quests are not those. Furthermore those quests are even rarer in Outland.

Such quests are fine. They are usually the quests for learning new cooking recipes so naturally the ingredients need to drop outside the quest as well. What we're talking about here though is gathering the items when you still have the quests and then abandoning it (which SHOULD destroy the quest items as you are warned in a pop-up window). The only thing is they don't get removed from your inventory so you are able to instantly complete the quests at the questgiver when you retake the quest.
I know this usually comes in handy with retaking bugged quests but used in this manner it is pure abuse. That said I don't think it's very serious. It should be discouraged though.
Shadowranger I cant tell if you are trolling or not, but if you are actually serious you are clearly not using ur "brain" or you just dont know how the game actually works, if you do a quest where you have to pick up items/loot items, and then abondon the quest, those items should be deleted.
1. The thread creator did not himself cleared what actually he wants to say, so i replied him in terms if he asking about quests done pre wotlk and pending on submission.
2. I am not free to read each and every reply while every thread since 2 days is only 'QQ'
3. Its a real common sense and every proper WOTLK player knows that some quest items are not BOP and the quests where you need BOP items, items vanish as soon as you abandon quest. [It wont happen if item is not BOP, e.g. Chasing Ah-Me 01 quest, if you abandon quest you dont lose your mithril casing] - [Thick Hide quest, forgot name. Ifyou abandon quest items dont vanish]
If a quest required item is a 'world item' means it is used for any other non-quest purpose as well, it will not vanish !
and save that troll for those who are posting QQ on globals about completed quests and whining about it.

Yea, if you read what I said, this is the abuse, BOP quest-items does not get removed on this server when you abandon quets, this is the exploit people are using. So basically EVERY quest in outlands where you have to loot a certain thing is abuseable.
