Item lvl / previous item requirement to buy gear for coins
Are these rules currently enforced? (taken from Lordaeron info thread)
If yes, will they be a certain feature of the realm or can they changed at any given time?
- Must have a lower tier equipped before higher item can be obtained using coins
- Item level requirement (i.e. must have Edge of Agony equipped before Fleshrender can be obtained using coins
Item pre-requisite requirements have been eased as per this thread .
Sorry for the tiny necro :p
The only relevant thing I found in that thread was
More importantly Lordaeron will have its excessive limitations eased while retaining realm's design features.
This is very vague... can someone please provide more details about this matter?
More specifically, during endgame:
1) What will be the max purchasable gear? 271?
2) Will there be a requirement to purchase it?
If yes, and assuming the max purchasable is 271, will the requirement be 264 or less?
Stuffs 200 ilvl already purchasable... sad to ruin all the efforts with this
I personally dislike a lot of things how Warmane and it's staff handles everything, but how can anyone be surprised about you being able to donate gear like that? It was stated even before the realm was released that you can buy gear that is a tier lower to the highest tier.

This discussion is mostly about ilvl requirements to purchase gear.
I have absolutely no problems with people buying non top stuff with a ilvl requirement (e.g. buy 271 only if you own 264)

The issue is that "tier lower" doesn't mean a specific thing. By a commonsense definition of "tier", e.g. content tier, you would not be able to purchase 200ilvl epics at all during T7, but obviously this is not the case. The definition becomes even more vague during Ulduar and ToC, where there is a huge range of item levels across 10-man.
Here, using only the "tier lower" guideline, tell me whether you can buy the following and why not:
A 232 weapon that drops off hardmode XT 10
A 232 weapon that drops off Ignis 25.
A 226 ring that drops off hardmode Iron Council 10.
A 226 ring that drops off XT 25.
A 239 trinket that drops off hardmode Yogg 25.
A 226 trinket that drops off Algalon 10.
A 226 trinket that drops off hardmode Thorim 10.
A 226 trinket that drops off Mimiron 25.
A 219 trinket that drops off Kologarn 10.
I know you won't be able to buy the 239, and that you will be able to buy the 219 (given the fact that you can buy 200s now). How about the rest?
