Technical Unusually high latency

I play from Australia, so my latency is normally around 350-380ms. However, since Tuesday 8PM server time, my latency has been at a minimum of 550ms, usually sitting at 680, but not infrequently reaching over one second of lag. No other games are suffering the same problem, streams and videos are also fine, even retail WoW is at 372ms. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have heard that when the servers are under DDOS attack, if you can log on you can still experience higher latency until the attack has passed. Based on when you say you have been having the issue, there have been a series of DDOS attacks on Warmane this week. That could explain it.
