A question to both the players and the staff: How do you do it?
Last night, I was in a Halls of Reflection group and was verbally abused for battle rezzing the wrong person. This really got under my skin, caused me to lose my **** in global and quit WoW altogether, and by altogether I mean both retail and private servers in general.
Unfortunately, I find myself already wanting to come back even though I know I'm going to take the abuse from players once again. I had even deleted my level 80 toon last night to try to get serious about not bringing myself to be abused by the players once again and I already want to restore him once I have enough activity points to do so.
Honestly, I have no idea how both the players and the Warmane staff deal with the abusive community. Hell, I'm sure even after Kaer regained control, the staff still continues to take abuse from players.
Maybe I'm just thin skinned compared to the players and the staff, I dunno.
Everyone makes mistakes its part of the game just learn from them and try to not make them again. As far as deleting your toon I think there is a way you can retrieve it. A good thing to do is before you do a raid you can watch most encounters on tankspot.com or YouTube , try to get familiar with them before you do them. I wish you luck, keep playing and don't let a few people cause you to quit.
ignore any kind of verbal offense you got on the internet, they have 0 value.
Since we are talking about WoW use "ignore" feature. In case they avoid your "ignore" by creating new Characers only to bother you then you can make screenshots > Report them and they will be banned

I'm aware of the fact that you can restore characters. Either with coins or vote points. Coins would probably be my best bet since I cannot get any more points.
Sigh, so many people nowadays don't understand that competitive scenarios always have bad-mouthing and tension involved, it is literally the natural order of things, both in and outside the game.
-DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY-, they are flaming the PLAYER -not- the PERSON. They can't possibly flame you because they don't -know- you. Emotional intelligence is key here, understand that flaming is not a threat to your emotional integrity if you don't let it. Maybe only if you let it get to you and harm you on a personal level (which is hilarious). It's beyond me how people can get offended by some random thing, said by some random person on the internet.
You're not taking abuse from anyone, you -can't- possibly take any abuse, because these people don't even know you, understand that, think it through.

^This. This is the Internet and this is an online game we're talking about, after all. You should give exactly zero ****s about someone flaming you in a game. You bressed the wrong person? Well, woops - sorry, and that's it. If they keep flaming you even after you've apologized, just ignore them and bye.
Anyway ... You can try to be more thick skinned or simply play with guild friendly players or extensively use the ignore feature. WoW has potential for both incredible friendships that lasts a lifetime and mind numbing loss of faith in Humanity.
Irl you have both good & bad ppl. Same goes for games. Just in games especialy over the internet the bad ones get brave to buly & abuse others since they are being anonymous over the internet ofc..I personally play alot of pvp and proly have about 250k hks on all my toons. I get these insulting , raging /w daily so do my friends that also play with me. We just ss them and send to one another and make a good laugh about it.
The point is any1 who tryes to buly you, abuse or insult in any way the problem is in him and not in you. Mostly these are insecure , frustrated and ******ed people that grow wings on internet cause anonymity and you should never let these ppl make you feel bad or like you did delete your toon .... They arent worth it.
Well, unfortunately there is ton of ragers in-game.
What you can do is to log into your opposite faction alt and gank the sh*t of that motherf*cker, or find his alts and kill that bastard over and over again...
Why would u care abour some fat dude in some place , that cant even play the game, but complains about others..
Just ignore them or even better troll them somehow
One week ago i camped some horde dude, cuz he said i should get cancer , because i one shotted him in arena:D
Thanks for the responses, guys. Maybe I'll restore my character next week when I get paid, but it's not possible as of right now as I do not have the coins.
Sorry but, the fact you HAD to make a thread and HAD to take it to global only shows you do not know how to handle yourself in those kind of situations. There is a thing called DON'T USE CHAT. Or block/ignore feature works too. You also need to learn to control yourself cause you can make it worse by taking it to other place.
Troll the **** out of them :p just bress the same wrong guy again and again, make fun of their spelling mistakes, /hug or /love the ones insulting you the most etc.
The interwebs is for trolls.
Personally i flame a lot by myself in battlegrounds as i always WANT to win and get mad if that goal can't be reached because of reasons other than my bad gameplay. But once the bg is over, the hate is over. It's the same for some football coaches that yell 90 minutes long on the pitch but then shake hands with the opponent and calmly analyze the situation in interviews.
