WOTLK updating itself to cataclysm

So, to start off.. i invited like 4 of my friends to play on this server, so they downloaded the game, and after the download every single one of them told me that it just updated to cataclysm immediately after they logged in.. does anyone have a fix for this? I searched google for like 30 minutes and found nothing.
