WotLK PvP

I've played WotLK on retail on molten and many other servers.. and i don't think even retail has population of 8k+ (not sure about that though).
So when i hit lvl 11 and i came to orgrimmar i was shocked when i saw that noone was dueling in durotar.. Can anyone explain? I mean i'm here just for PvP not just arenas but BGs but world PvP aswell.. yes i know that probably most people play pvp on allianace but still.. never have i saw empty durotar before..
I'm talking about Lordaeron here.. is Ragnaros or Deathwing any better?

Lordaerons population consist mainly of pvers.
Most active pvp will most likely be on the merged realm of deathwing and ragnaros.
