1. Are there too many holy paladins?

So, I'm basically stuck between Resto Shaman and Holy Paladin. Originally, I was going to play Hpala however, after look at the census and seeing such incredibly number % for Paladins, I was wondering if there were plenty of Holy paladins or if most players are MS Ret? I'm afraid that if I play Holy paladin that it'll be harder for me to get into raids in comparison to shamans which aren't as popular overall.

  2. im just pulling numbers out of my *** but i'd say 15% of the paladins and 70% of the shamans play holy/resto

  3. there are quite a number, but dont let it dissuade you as a good 75% at least are rather **** at what they do

  4. I'm in the same boat I'm still leveling I was going to do holy paladin but wondering how hard it's going to be getting into raids if there's a huge amount of holy paladins already or if I'm better off going shaman or druid

You're right when you state that there is a high % of Paladins in this server. But then again, after the several fixes that they suffered (they used to have an insane DPS meter) most of the people don't play them at all.

Also I would like to remind you that just because there are many of them that doesn't necessary convert them to good players immediatly. With this said, just play what you feel like playing and enjoy your game time. I'm pretty sure that if you're actually good at your class you'll always find a place where people need you.

  6. That's true i suppose for me I enjoy playing what's most needed and will give the biggest improvement to a group.

You should always play what you actually enjoy playing otherwise this game will start to become a burden instead of being fun. If you have other people that play your class as well take it as a challenge and endure and develop as a player in order to show how good you are. I can guarantee that as long as you're doing that - You're having fun as well. Rerolling another class will not make you have fun - It will just frustrate you because you might not even enjoy the gameplay of the class you rerolled.

  8. I'm only level 16 thus far rerolling isn't a huge issue even when I played retail till the end of mop I played paladin as my main coming back to wrath was more so for nostalgia but I will want to take part in raids and such but I'd like to help groups get going quicker and have been trying to figure out if there's been a short in pally heals or raid heals.

  9. Not a whole lot of pallies roll Holy. Most of the ones that do, play them horribly.

  10. i play enhancement in wotlk, it's nice. little competition for gear particularly weapons and it's a lot funner than the other hybrids. pvp is also fun, as i mastered the class in cata and most of that carried over to wotlk just without spiritwalkers grace/greater healing wave (although insta healing wave is so damn strong in wotlk it's even stronger than ghw was in cata in terms of % of health healed)

There's just too many paladins period in wotlk realms. i often see like "LFM ToC NO PALADINS" and the like, because they just can't fit any more.

i guess i understand why, good damage, healing, tanky, extremely low skill floor, but it seems a bit silly in the end for there to be so many

  11. I like your response I've gotten my paladin to level 24 thus far I forgot how boring questing could.be in vanilla content lol. So would it be in my best interest to switch or get to 80 and make a name for myself in the paladin pool?

A small note to add here is that ToC tends to attract paladins because of Solace and Death's Verdict/Choice being very good trinkets for holy resp. ret palas.

If you have what it takes go for it. Or don't let us add you to the list of paladins who can't heal :D

Seriously, what answer do you expect? Nobody will guarantee you a spot in a raid nor can anybody predict what the situation will be at the times you are able to raid.

From my experience it's harder to find a good shaman than a decent HPala. We always have to force someone to play RShaman.
But in the end you only need one resto and one holy per raid.

  15. Well if it's alot harder to find a good restro shaman and they are needed I could easily fill that role
