Me and my friends received messages that our accounts have been compromised. I immediately changed my password, but the more important question is - where do they have my number from?

OK, I see nobody is answering and this is actually a real-life problem, not just an in-game problem, so I'll start from the beginning - yesterday as me and my friend were leveling and Skyping, we started receiving some disturbing SMSes about account theft and then phone clicks from an unknown "limited" number. I immediately changed my password, but then I realized that the number I was receiving the messages from was... my friend's number. And he was receiving messages from... my number.
It gets weirder. The guy had my personal info - phone, hometown etc (probably from my facebook), and he even knew that we were playing together on Ragnaros and leveling together and he knew our character names and kept spamming invites with random 1lvl characters.
Sooo... where is the problem and how can I solve it? This is continuing for the 2nd day now and it involves personal data abuse.

That sounds rather scary. Maybe it could have been some other friend pranking the two of you ?

It must be someone you know. Senders phone number can be faked using some online services. It's not possible for a random person to get all that information from Warmane.

Somehow he knows who I am on facebook. That's how he got it. He knows my hometown, place of study... and phone number from there. But how does he know who I am exactly on Ragnaros (leveling a random Ally alt) and that I play exactly with this friend of mine (with whom we have no connection outside Warmane). And he got his number too and I didn't even have his number before.

I see 2 possibilities:
1) It could be someone who knows both of you and that you are playing together.
2) It could be your friend (or someone he knows) messing with you and only saying that he also got those messages.

It seems to me that he has both your number, and the friend.
It is possible that he is redirecting all phone calls to your friends phone, and all calls from your friend to your phone.
The best way is to contact your service provider, EE, Orange, Vodaphone, and explain that you are receiving nuisance calls from this person.
They will trace the signal and be able to block it. Regardless of whether it is masked or redirected, it can be traced.
More specifically, you should state when you received the call, and the number to the service provider. From that date/time they will be able to trace the signal and investigate it further.

Number appears as "Limited" or I would've blocked it, we only receive the messages from "each other's numbers".

looks like you gave your phone number to google (email authentification ) and then peoples can see your number.. only what they need get is your email adress
