So as you know, boomkin being such an underpowered class in wotlk with no silence or any kind of cc except cyclone and root, I was wondering how this class would do in arena ? tbh I have never even met a good comp with a boomkin, how well do they fare with a shadow priest ? or any potentially good comp ?

in 2v2 boomking is viable to a certain extent, boomkin/ele, boomkin/rogue, boomkin/mage. in 3v3 its just not viable - u will be tunneled and wont survive

you think if its played correctly one could bring his rating to 2.7k ? I've leveled a boomkin just for PvE in Lordaeron and now I'm leveling a shamy, so just wondering if I should go with the boomkin or keep leveling the shamy :/.

There will always be certain classes that you see and go, that`s the target, so if your two classes to choose from are boomkin and ele shaman, buddy you picked 2 of the always go for that class champions. I really cant think of a comp where if you see a boomkin/ele shamen you would not prioritize killing them first, except maybe an enh shaman.
I played some boomkin pvp but I never got my rating that high, but I can tell you some viablo 2s comps with boomkin.
Depending on your spec, if you go full boomkin or restokin(resto+boom)
Boomkin - Shadow Priest
Restokin - Suc Warlock
Boomkin - Frost Mage
Boomkin - DK
Restokin - Rogue
Restokin - Warrior
3s all revolve around the same classes except you could throw in a hunter, ret paladin, warrior
Restokin spec- Have no idea anymore

nah boomkin aint capable to get 2.7k in 3.3.5. if u wanna to get such high rating u should reroll to feral or resto
