Using Game Discs
I'm sure this has been asked a lot but I was wondering if I could use the game discs to download the game instead of torrenting it? Would take me forever to DL 17g lol. Thank you!

It depends on the version you manage to get. If it matches with one of our versions (3.3.5a, 4.3.4 or 5.4.8), you will then have at least to replace Wow.exe and add in a realmlist.wtf or add the realmlist in WTF\Config.wtf (depending on the expansion).

Which expansion? And do you have discs for the right expansion? For wotlk it's possible but you would have to manually download and install patches and cancel auto update after every install so it doesn't update to latest patch. For Cata and MoP there are alreay minimal clients available so you can download while playing. Also starting from MoP (or Cata) discs do not actually contain game data and you have to download it anyway.

I have Vanilla up to Wotlk, so I can use them and just cancel auto update and download the patches manually?
