Other day I was talking to my grandnan and she overheard at her friseur some antie speaking about decent, blizzlike WotL server. Since I was such a WotLK fanboy and generally I miss that old flavour of my favorite MMOrpg out there I thought to my self, taking in mind that WoD was an utter dispointment (at least for me) I would give it a go. So been here for couple of days, checking out and I've seen people running around in Naxx gear, those sweetsweet 213 ilvl items and it brought lots of loving memories when I was young, free, without wife, mortgage, smoking weed and raiding with my buddies.
Now to the point, I played Shaman (Enhancement mainly) during entire Xpac, I've spent most of the time doing PvE stuff, having almost zero interest for PvP-ing. Right now, here on Lord, I would like to do some PvP but raid too, I love raiding, killing dragons and **** I'm interested in 2v2 Arena (my old buddy is coming to play also) and dueling, maybe some BGs, if I get drunk or something.
My question: Can't decide between Rogue, Mage and Spriest. How do these classes stand in (which one is easier/better):
Leveling - all are freaking hard. Rogue has some advantage because of stealth, mage will kill things faster, priest selfheal and dungeon heals...
PvE - currently missing shamans as it and warlocks... better go for some rdps cos of tons of mdps on this realm.
PvP - well, depending what class you master. each can be awesome in 2v2. check other realms brackets on site (Armory)
I recommend you to level with friend if possible. 2x fun, -2x difficulty..
I don't want to replay Shaman and Locks are not my thing, so I narrowed it to Priest or Mage. Though having stealth while lvling is nice thing to have to avoid unnecessary gankrapes, specially considering it's long road to 80, specially for someone who got used to powerlvling and carebearness of retail :>
Rogue/mage leveling is a pain, specially mage since u gotta eat by killing each mob at some points. Pve any class is valuable and Pvp, in 2s rogue or mage is amazing and even in 3s. While spriest shines mostly in 3s. U can hook up with a mage as shadow and get r1 if ur good.
Shadow Priest is only matched by a Paladin in terms of dualing potential while leveling. If you want to avoid dying by players of equal level, roll a shadow priest, get an addon that shows "enemies" or "punks" in the area, then Mind Vision them every time they are in range. If they know you can see them, they are less likely to attack.
In PvE Shadow Priests own during AoE phases and provide utility like spell hit buff, group healing, disease and magic dispelling, and mana/healing cooldowns for the raid.
