I am just curious what the spawn rates of Herb and Ore nodes are.
My character currently has both mining and herbalism. From what I have noticed it seems Herbs have a very high spawn rate, I will find 5-7 nodes all in one location, will fight a couple mobs and in less then 3-4 mins the herbs have reappeared. However copper nodes are few and far between and they take much longer to spawn. Hell simply flying over a zone while searching for Herbs will show dozens of herbs, fly over a zone while searching for ore and perhaps you will see 1 or 2.
Why is herbalism so heavily favoured? I have barely gotten to lvl 60 mining while herbalism I have gotten over 150 in no time. I found 8 Bruiseweed all in one spot while searching Loch Modan.
Is this a feature of WOTLK or has this server been set to spawn herbs like crazy?
I have no problem with modes of any prof, then again I don't play during peak hours. There's a lot of people on lord I'm sure your just slow to the finish line.
I have stood next to nodes and timed their Respawn. Herbs spawn faster and more frequently. Has nothing to do with "being slow finishing the line" the fact is some areas have TONS of herbs, literally 6-8 nodes within a few feet of each other and they respawn so much faster then mining nodes.
I have picked Bruiseweed, fought two easy mobs and the bruiseweed had respawned before the battle was over. Just silly respawn time for herbs.
I suppose I could just be too familiar with Vanilla and the changes here have me in shock lol.. The amount of enemies that are no longer elite is so sad, nah its cool I will just solo pretty much 90% of the PVE content no problem lol

Reason: Because i like to do stuff like that
it's partially true. i've done herbalism and mining up to 300, mining is now 375.
for horde though, durotar is hot, it took me about 1hr and 15 mins to get the ore I needed. ( i just sit on the couch next to the ore and play on my phone/read etc.. ) and the respawn timer for ore is roughly ten minutes.
Herbalism however, is fairly similiar to other wotlk servers I've played on recently in the past 2 years. BRUISEWEED is definetely one of those herbs that spawns like crazy, and depending on where you go all the way up to 300, ive usually been able to find herbs I need with npnp. Even dreamfoil or rarer things like ghost mushroom.
All in all, atleast horde side, the herbs are worth so little, you might as well vendor everything except briarthorn and up until 250's, plaguebloom/lotus/gromsblood/and higher.
If I remember correctly you can mine the same ore node as many times as you want if you don't loot it, and get skill ups every time.
I don't think it works that way. Yes you can gain skill up if you fail to get one from a node and decided NOT to loot and mine it again, but after you get your skill, that node shouldn't give you anymore
Ofc I never managed to actually test it
PS : however you can share skill up with another player by letting him swing his pickaxe or examine (?) the herb until he get a skill up as well
