Both specs are good in 2s if you're playing with a hpala — which is a very good option for beginners — but destro games may be considerably shorter

Desto is a bit like elemental shaman it's more about burst damage. Afflic focuses heavily of DoTs to kill targets. They both have different play styles and aim to do different things. On Icecrown desto is the more popular spec to play in PvP. In terms of 1vs1 affliction in the hands of skilled person can beat anyone and anything both spec are good in 2v2 and 3vs3 in arena from what I've seen try both and see which one you like better.

That is interesting to hear how affliction can be so dominant in 1v1. I always though it was the other way around. Hence the reason so many warlocks are destro spec.

On this server, yes. Affliction bursts faster than destro on single target.. it's insane.

Yup, Aff locks even with relentless and some pve gear are pretty much facerolling ppl with ezzz, once they reach (donate) wrath set they'll never lose again unless 1v [X > 1]

No. Both specs are equally good.
Destro is more bursty and affli does high sustain dmg.
