WotLK Difference between trinkets

Heya,

just a question. I've looked into many different builds of dks, mostly unholy and frost. So, some people take DBW and Twilight, some people use double verdicts. And few of them use the heroic verdict in combination with heroic DBW/TS. What's the reasoning behing their choice of trinkets? Does it have to do with frost/unholy? But even then, i've seen unholy and frosts with all combinations.

Well DVstack is usually your trinket comb of choice as a DK in PvP because
(i) ap/str is your moneystat
(ii) it reliably syncs, which is important in pvp
you can DVhc/STS too which will sync as well and give you a slightly more powerful burst, but ArP as a stat is rather very poor in PvP
DBW is really bad because it doesnt sync, has ArP and 2/3 of times you`ll get a ****proc, but some casuals have it for PvE anyways and use it for the occasional pvp as well.

As for PvE, well DBW is a rather bad Blood trinket (maybe UH too, cant recall their crit REV) because your Haste scaling as a Blood is really bad. It`s decent enough for Frost, but does suffer from the lack of sync issue a bit (less so than in PvP), especially in longer fights.

The specs that benefit the most from ArP are blood and frost (not as much as blood though).
I'm not a master in PvP, but if you ask me i would rather have the constant reliable stats of dual DV/DC than DBW (STS is fine, is the ArP part that i don't like as much as UH).
OH WAIT! I've done 2's with an arms warrior as UH, and it was a "win or lose in 20 seconds" team, and i used DBW and STS hahhahaha! Funny as ****, all cd's popped after the charge, the pressure was awesome XD

No, frost doesnt need armor pen because of frost strike. Get double DC.

Frost does need Arp! at high gear Obliterate will be your top damaging skill, Same reason since the FS strike fix you've been seeing more fdks going for arp. Dks already get a sufficient amount of arp from gear at high gear investing to cap arp when you're bis or near bis is a dps increase

Yeah well they might get high armor pen if you get lots of pves, but i dont see that in pvp gear.

Both blood and Frost want to cap ArP (1260 for Blood if it`s working), but
(i) There are other means to do that
(ii) ArP`s value becomes nil after you cap it

And the really ****ty Haste REV as a Blood does justify to not use DBW (use DVhc instead).

For blood there is no other means capping without doing major ****up to gear, Unlike frost bdk needs the 8% hit, so aside losing too many str gems from gemming hit changing hands/wrist/feet/back. using hands you still need to gem 1hit + ench feet/hands for hit just to cap hit. no other trink is worth the loss of 14%arp, that's 7str gems....

Yes haste isn't as nice as STR or Crit but by no means is it bad, with SM (3.7) the 700haste pushes your melee to 2.9. if you count BL/Hero it goes even lower that is a very nice burst. lots of necrosis/bcb! Necrosis and bcb hit the hardest from Bdk among all others specs so the haste boost really works nice for them.
