The thing is: I want to make something expensive. To do that I require the skills of a let's say blacksmith. I find one in SW. The question is: how do I secure myself from thieves and ninjas, that is, how do I secure myself from him taking the mats and not making the item nor giving me the mats back.

In case of a theft is it possible to report with a screenshot as a proof of the transaction?

Make sure the person who will make the item is in a known guild. Also make sure he is geared so if he scams you and gets banned he has something to loose. And finally record your transaction with that player using fraps or any other game capture.

Edit: Trade scams are punishable with 60 day ban. And second time offense I believe is 120 days and third it's a perma account ban. Don't quote me on this. I could be wrong.

You can report (if you have all the required proof) and they might get banned and lose items or gold involved, but you won't be returned anything.
