In theory, if a very skilled player would go for Demonology, could it be viable for pvp?
I've seen some sick videos where people just get bursted down instantly by a warlock with Metamorphosis with a single soul fire (or whatever is the name of that spell). Is this even possible, or would I have to fight against somebody without any pvp gear?
Dude, in WotLK, Immolation Aura is doing insane damage! Try demo, but before that, learn lock the best you can. Demo can do well in arena with viable partner. You can always have dual spec and btw, haste will use you in other specs as well!
Before some things got fixed here, Soul Fire had a way shorter casting time. If played right, you could do some insane "moves" in BG's, especially in AV.
I'v played it for some time, but mostly in BG's, never tried arena as Demo. But, I'v seen some Demo Lock's in arena to, and they were pretty good.
It's kinda hard to get used to it, but it's really fun to play IMO.
Now, since the fixes I haven't tried Demo in PvP. I stopped playing it in PvE to since I got better gear. But, as already said... haste, haste, haste. And you are ready to rock.
Once there was a demo lock on Moltens tournament who was playing together with ele and hpala in 3v3.
As far i remember they even managed to reach rank 3 on that tournament.
Thanks for the replies guys. It's nice to see a class with all 3 talent trees viable for pretty much everything, all of them having their respective uses and " niches" to fill.
I'm planning on leveling a Warlock on Loarderon - so I'm pretty sure I'll learn it Quite well, already seeing myself changing the talents every 10 levels, hehe.
I mainly wanted Demonology because it's the most interesting one, because it makes you different. The Metamorphosis looks (and feels) awesome, and then you have a unique demon as well. I am not in for winning, but I don't want to end up playing a spec that sucks way too much.
It looks like I'll start of as Affli (just because from what I know it makes the first levels so much easier) and switch to Demonology once I get the Metamorphosis to see how it works.
